CCP why did you go the route of a lame mini game. Have you played any recent games? Ya the mini game is interesting for first few times, but once you get towards the end of the game you loath the mini games as it just a time sink and all the fun has already been bled from it. And that's from games with an end, eve has no end so I cant even imagine how people will feel about the mini game in 1 year.

Exploration should be more around exploration. Why not model exploration around what FTL did. You scan down random sites and then you get a % of things happening. Each choice only has a % for a positive outcome, which is modified by your skill points and by the players skills.

IE you scan down a distress signal, which then has multiple things that can happen.

Its a trap set up pirate that springs once you land to it (no rats have points, you warp off it de-spawns) or you can kill them and see if any of the wreaks of previous victims (npcs) have anything worth while in them.

Its a real distress signal in which you have to help them repair their ship quickly before they blow up. Your personal skill in engineering effects the out come of the repair or has a chance to.

Its a real distress signal in which you have to tow them a certain distance from a gravity well before hostiles show up (You can continue to tow them once they show up if you can tank the rats)

Its a real distress call in which a drone is malfunctioning, you can either kill it or repair it.

Its a fleet fight in which you have to kill tackler rats so the fleet can flee (nothing targets you, as they are busy on the npcs)

There are millions of possible things this one site could have you do which would provide a fun and unique experience each time you run it.

Also with this you could make it so any ship could run these sites all you would need is a probe launcher. Instead of the current system of needing a relic and data mod just to do the exploration. I really don't like that fact that you are forced into some ships like the exploration frigates in order to do something, in a game that is suppose to be a sandbox, instead of limiting the players choices you should be increasing their choices.

What did I just read?

Annoying random events, that you only need to warp to, are better than roguelike minigames?

I think I need to sit down.
