hi all im flying an incursus (brawler) for pvp and im using small blasters .
now we have ion/electron/nuetron they all have diffrent rof /damage mod /range ive tried to work out whats best but i just end up getting more confused lol
what would be best for dps ? are the diffrent types used in diffrent situations ?
i guess im asking what type would be best for me i cannot se why i would use one over the other and as im not that good at pvp yet. every little advantage would be a bonus

thx in advance . Neo

Electrons are the smallest. They do the least amount of damage, have the least amount of range, the highest RoF and the best tracking. They have the lowest fitting requirements.

Ions are the medium ground. They do more damage than Electrons but less than Neutrons, they have more range than Electrons but less than Neutrons, their rate of fire is between the two and their tracking is inbetween that of Electrons and Neutrons. Their fitting requirements are between that of Ions and Neutrons.

Neutrons are the biggest among the small blasters. They do the most damage, have the greatest range, the slowest RoF and the worst tracking. They have the highest fitting requirements of the small blasters.

If you want the most damage and range, use Neutrons. Despite having the worst tracking of the three they still have decent tracking. If you're struggling to fit Neutrons onto your ship because of your mids and lows, use Ions. If they still don't fit, use Electrons.

Figure what range you engage in and what ship you have in mind, then fit to that parameter.

No. Ion Blasters are the middle ground, Electron Blasters are the weakest.

EFT lists weapons in order of smallest to largest and low meta level to high meta level. There's no need to remember these kinds of details really.

On most Incursus fits you should have no problem fitting neutrons. They have higher DPS but it is really the range you are after. With Null they have good DPS projection through scram range.

For that reason I would also suggest that 75mm rails are almost always better in any fit that requires dropping to electron blasters.

You should learn your weapon types do you know how to react in a fight.

Whoops, my bad.

This comes from pretty much solely using Neutrons, I don't care about the rest!

OP the only worth fitting blasters are neutrons, everything else if you really can't decently fit your ships but then I'd tell you to use another ship and stop hurting your neurons.

Neutrons are the best

You should also always have null and proabaly a range rig..

Incursus is best with rails though.

Rail incursus is a beast of a ship. Excellent damage projection, good speed to dictate range while scrammed/webbed. and if you get some ****** kiter with a TD on you you swap to T2 long range ammo and still prop them :)

Oh yeah and the tanking bonus is great with the small ancill repper :)

That is the Way, the Tao.

At the frigate level neutrons are really good because without it your projection in scram range is very lacking making you very susceptible to being kept at range and whittled away. It's often worth it to give up a slot for fitting if you can shoehorn neutrons on.

if possible fit neutron blaster, they are the overall best, the only downside is less tracking but they have more range so if you can make use of that extra range the tracking will be very close (i dont wanna run numbers here) to the smaller ones.
you have ions and electrons as different levels of compromises, some time you need to use a smaller gun to fit a better tank its mostly a matter of taste some times a bigger tank outweight the benefit of a greater dps some time its the opposite, its up to you to find the right compromise for your fighting style
