I see lots of people posting about how we should train up Battlecruiser V and Destroyers V before the "skill split" or we're going to lose out on millions of SP. When is this happening?

EvE is supposed to suck.  Wait . . . what was the question?

It's happening on the 4th of June with the upcoming expansion; Odyssey.

Unless you can train the required skills in less than 4 days you are out of luck (which is probably the case). Don't worry though it's not the end of the world.

I for one didn't bother training them as I was working on my other skills. Though then again I would have only got around 3 mil SP as I don't plan on flying all 4 races of ships.

this kinda made me laugh looking at it again.

Since this was over 1 year ago, the today tomorrow thing could have come and gone. "if you could fly it yesterday, you can still fly it today" well that has been true for over 1 year since it was said. But they did not say "if you could fly it before Odyssey you could fly it post Odyssey. " I just had a funny thought that they could argue that that was said over 1 year ago, it no longer applies. The today and tomorrow spoken of in the blog has come and gone.

I know this is not the case. The skill changes are already on SiSi and seem to have integrated seamlessly. I just thought it would be funny if CCP pulled a fast one and said, well yeah, everything you could fly before that devblog you could fly after, in fact over 1 year after, right up until tomorrow.

I think everyone that paid attention had the battlecruiser and destroyer skills trained up a long time ago. But it seems a lot missed the command ship changes. This is a little different as it is not becoming a racial skill, but the prerequisites are changing. After the patch you will need all the ganglink skills trained to 5 to train command ships, up until tomorrow you only needed the warfare link skill. Command ships are T2 battlecruisers. They are useful for more than just command links, they make nice combat ships too. but after tomorrow they will be a lot harder to get into.

Actually if you already have the Commandship Skill injected then you don't need to worry about the Warfare skills(however they are a set of skills that any self respecting Commandship Pilot would have to 5 anyways), please note that it is the Warfare Skills, not the Warfare Link Specialist Skills(which are used for links) that are the pre-reqs
