Faction Missiles over T2...?

I've been flying a Kestrel for a while and was wondering whether or not to use T2 missiles over faction ones. With Fury loaded my DPS gets up to 127 but with their faction equivalent the DPS drops to 110. I carry both in my cargohold and have tried both and don't seem to have any problems with the T2.

Now, I'm not the shiniest button on the tunic and was wondering if someone could point out why everyone tells me to use faction over T2. When I ask them they just say because they're better .... What?

Ps This is for PvP btw and I predominantly go after other frigs or dessies.

Faction Missiles are usually the best choice if you do not know what kind of enemy you will face.
If you know that your enemy will be something which is larger then you, then Fury is a better choice. If your enemy the same size or smaller, then Fury usually suffer from their bigger signature and slower explosion velocity.
If you know that your enemy will be fast or smaller then you then Precision is a better choice. Because then they will do more damage then the others.

if you're going after frigs and dessies stick with faction, fury has larger explosion radius and lower explosion velocity meaning it will do reduced damage to smaller, faster objects.

I suggest you have a quick glance of http://wiki.eveuniversity.org/Missilery_101#Missile_advantages_and_disadvantages
