Okay im about to get myself a maelstrom, i have the fit ready and im not a complete noob, i do have the support skils for it, after ive finished training to get the max out of it, i will probably have BS 5 and t2 large guns, which is pushing me towards the mach/vargur, both i like so there is no question of go with what you like, and they both cost the same, and they can both do incursions. So, after the maelstrom, should i go for mach, vargur, or possible sleipnir/loki?

TL;DR Maelstrom->mach/vargur/sleipnir/loki?

All good ships.

All different play styles and costs.

The mach is a very fast battleship, with a battleships DPS, at long range. (The bonuses for autocannons are /nasty/)
The Sleipnir is a battlecruiser, with a big tank, and slightly higher than battlecruiser DPS.
The loki is flexible as hell. A lot of different combinations.
The vargur is tanky, with good battleship dps.

All depends how you like to play.

Well ill be in a 1200mm 100mn ab maelstrom, i dont really know what playstyle that would be although i do like the machs range, but is that only a good option vs angels, as i am mainly against serpentis. I tried fitting the loki(all 5), couldnt get more dps then my maelstrom with my skills it was about the same.

Now a Mael again. You hop from ship to ship. Last time you said you were going for a raven.

My 2 cents in this thread: take it one ship at a time.

specially if it involves large ISK investments (mach and vargur).

Also, keep in mind that a Loki you build has similar DPS as your mael but it is a cruiser. Thus DPS vs size is better and a loki is a harder to hit target then your Mael.

Machariel is pretty much endgame for PvE, imo. (Of course there are some rumors of future nerf).
Probably all pirate ships are.

As for Incursions, the group I fly with, which requires shinies, buth ship- and skillwise, T2-Arty fitted Machs are the backbone (it´s always quite a sight, seeing 20+ Machariels grouped together), though Vindicators and Nightmares are fine too.

Vargur is very artillery unfriendly... even when you're trying to fit 1200mm's.

Consult your local EFT for more information.

Also... both the Machariel and the Vargur shine with autocannons, the dual 800mm's in particular.

most obvious progression from the mael is the varg/mach both very similar styles except the mach relies in a different type of tanking.

A mach will definitely have it's place in incursions 1400mm fit to alpha some nasty rats and the vargur is rather pigeonholed into missioning.
