I have read through most of these and I will add that while the trade is working as it should be, CCP should do a better job of warning. In most online games such practices are bannable and items will be recovered, it has been some time since I have done the tuts but I do not remember anything along the lines of " Scamming and piracy in EvE, unlike most games, is allowed as this game is heavely based on player run trade and corporations, if you fall for a scam you will not be re-emburts and the scammer will not be punished you have been warned!"

If such a warning was added it would help reduce these post as most new players do not relize the dynamic of EvE and think it works like other games which does lead to an unfair advantage to the scammer and hurt feelings from new players which leads to a lower player base. I guess I am saying that new players need to be better informed about the harsher aspects of EvE to avoid such misunderstandings. Had the OP known that EvE worked differntly he might have not felt so betrayed by CCP, of course he also might not of fell for the scam realizing that they are a threat.

That being said I have never fallen for a scam I was informed via somone elses whining in the newbie corp that I learned how EvE worked differntly, and at the same time armed with this knowledge would not feel hurt or betrayed by CCP if someone did mange to pull one over on me.

Also I am to lazy to go back to quat but someone mentioned try scamming CCP and see.... In game and out of game are differnt if you scam using charecter transfers or PLEX which involes real mony you will be dealt with and harshly from what I hear. Scammers are only protected, or rather not punished by CCP for ingame theft dealing with ingame items as it is part of EvE that such happens ingame. EvE is not about dungeon running and questing, it is about building corporations, manufaturing and trading, piracy and ransom and ruthless tactics once players imbrace this they will embrase EvE.

On a side not stop screwing with new player to the extent they quit I rather not fly in an empty universe.

Well, let's hope they get their act together and put an end to this one as well. I've already cancelled my account, I wonder how much more business they have lost in the past and will in the future. Some people take theft seriously, others are fooling themselves.

More like how much business they are getting and keeping because they do allow for all kinds of wickedness, scamming, corp thievery, betrayals and the hi jinx that we EVE online love having in the game even if we've been burned ourselves. I've been fooled and shot down and hunted from one merry jump to another in nullsec. So we can shoot each other's ships out of the skies but we can't have the battle of wits inherent in all the cons, scammming and thievery that's part of a good MMO as far as I'm concerned.

CCP could solve corp thievery by just adding a log to everything that goes in and out of your hangars. As it happens they don't , so it actually matters who your promote to have access. The same goes with the other little tricks people can play.

Look if its not your game that's fine. But don't tell me my game is broken just because its not the game you want to play.

I speak as someone who has lost many billions to political treachery in this game, as well as gained many in return.

Don't get mad. Get even. Set the scammer up. Scam them back. Put the link to this discussion with the name of the villan in your bio, in local. Have them killed. Now you have an enemy you can cherish, whose demise you can work for with diligence and joy. Find who their allies are and destroy them. Don't even let them know from whom the blows fall or why. (That's my favorite.) If you can keep yourself from gloating, with luck you can set them against their friends. Who knows how long you can stretch things out? And before you know it, you're playing EVE.
