Parasite Pods I think would work best. Anchor them in space, they take up Drone bandwidth... done... but they launch missiles.

I didn't read everything so if someone alrady had this idea, excuse me.

But what about a ship specialized in droping heavy sentry drones, better yet, gun or missile batteries, like the ones in jumpgates.

This ship could have a number of slots to make it hard to hit, but absolutelly no guns or missile slots, but have high slots for remotely maintanance of the sentries (armour, hull, shield, target painter, etc...).

The pilot could choose between sentry batteries which are more powerfull but you could bring less or heavy sentries drones which would still have a powerfull punch but not half of the batteries but the pilot could bring a much higher number.

The bateries would need some time to anchor/unanchor while the sentries don't, it would be instantaneously.

The batteries would need ammo the sentries don't.

The batteries would cost a LOT more then the sentries.

Pilot could directly command more then normally do with drones as this is a specialized ship.

Pilot could bring more then he/she can command, and even deploy, but they must stay offline until the ones under his command is subtracted (lost, recovered or put in offline). Bateries that are more than he could control could be set to auto fire like POS guns.

Then another idea....

Mine deployer ship
Again no offensive capabilities on high slots.

Ship can bring enormous ammounts of mines

Pilot can fly around and deploy mines around the area of operation.

It would be interesting if you could just eject mines and could order them to go to specific locations so you dont need to fly around with your ship, but I don't know how much problem is to technically implement this on the game.

You can setup the activation radius and condition to attack then switch it online.

Once online, any ship that come close to that range will activate it.

Once active the mine will explode, damage is made taking in consideration optimal range and fallout range, this must be considered by the pilot when he/she setup the activation range. Example if the mine have a 20km optimal and 40km fallout, one can setup activation to 18km to make sure the explosion will hit the target with full force or in a diferent situation you need to cover a wide area you can setup activation to 40km to have maximum coverage.

By the way explosions would harm friendlies and you as well, they are not smart bombs.

Just as hilariously **** as your last idea.

Surely #1 is an Ishtar?

and as for #2, mines were removed a long time ago for a lot of reasons, look them up.

I dont see how #1 is even close to an Ishtar, please enlight me.

#2 well as you told, I now remember, I came to eve just before they took that off, well mines are not really a great idea anyway, but everything can be improved if there is will. Example: drones was also a problem in the past, but they didn't want to remove so they improved it, an obvious diference is that in the past one could command much more drones then now, they reduced the numbers but made them more lethal.

I really like the #1 idea
