Ok. I complained about bounties.

My bounty went from 100k to 25 Mil that night.

This is a research and manufacturing character, and hasn't been out of HiSec for maybe a year. She fliesr rookie ships.

What is the point?

Please, run it up. It's your ISK after all.

I seen the powerball jump up like that once. Im dont like the lottery much though. A few months ago the home took us to the casino, they said we were gonna have ourselfs just the best time ever but they were quite mistaken. You see James, the guy down the hall, not James who works at the Home, had misplaced his dentures. Now why someone would take their teeth out at the casino is compleatly beyond me but thats James fer ya.

Bounties are incredibly stupid...

Go ahead and waste your ISK on me. This is a non training chat alt that never undocks...

I just don't understand. Placing bounties on Hi Sec dwellers? Why?

You neatly provide the answer to that question yourself by creating this thread.

Tears/fun/reactions/because we can/why not?

It's like a minigame for me. I try to make everyone I meet wanted, and "tag" them by making their bounty end in 170. This way I can easily identify people I've encountered before, as long as they don't get killed and lose their bounty.

I never understood why people do that. Do you really think you would show up on anyone's radar THAT much that you need to wear a bag over your head?

I don't much like it myself but EVE players aren't the nicest. The minimum bounty should be raised to at least stop it.... but then again, if they want to waste ISK like that.... Roll

I intended to. Waste all the ISK you have on me, and I win.

I strongly disagree there. Out of all the online game communities I've been in (I've played all kinds of multiplayer games), the EVE community has been the most well mannered and helpful in general. There are always exceptions, but off the top of my head I can't really think of any other game where I've had as many pleasant conversations with my victims or aggressors after a fight/encounter as I have in EVE.

I still think you should be able to "beat the bounty", they should expire after a suitable time. Somewhere in 30-90 day range. Some percentage goes back to the issuer.

The only end-game content in EVE Online is the crap that makes you rage quit.

You have every right to disagree but I don't know of any other game where scamming and griefing are legit "careers". It's frowned upon, if not outright prohibited, in most other games.

Consider this: The focus in EVE is a player driven experience. Players create and destroy ships and modules in an endless cycle. The PvE aspects are incredibly shallow and repetitive, so there has to be player made conflicts to keep things interesting. "Griefers" create such conflicts. Just because someone plays a villain role in a game, that doesn't make them a bad person.

I don't really know if I can defend scamming with the same argument, but at least it doesn't affect me since I'm not stupid or drunk enough to fall for scams when I play. Twisted (You should always read a contract thoroughly before signing/accepting it. This applies to real life as well.)

I enjoy placing tags of "1,337,000" , "8,200,000" and "13,337,000" on all State War Academy members because I am a Mighty Space Warrior who does what he chooses.

LIke in life, the squeaky gear gets the ..... bounty.

Why must people complain about things, knowing it will have adverse effects?

bounties that go unclaimed after a month or so should be "moved up", and get applied to the whatever group the player is part of. always to the biggest instance. say, a player is a member of a corp within an alliance, then the bounty should go to the alliance.

that's all that really needs to be changed. bounties are not a death sentence, its not a kill contract. its merely an incentive, or extra reward to whoever kills the bountie'd person and its s shame seeing it go to waste if that person never puts the bounty at risk of being claimed.

that said, eve needs kill contracts.
