Not really. Double standards imply that the same people supported the manner of Eturrer's execution while opposing cruel and unusual punishments for Broteau.

I, for one, was sickened by the Eturrer debacle (and I frequently parade it out when I want evidence to support my arguments that the Gallente Federation is in serious need of change). At the same time, I'm not in favor of lynching Broteau. Cruel and unusual punishments are never called for, in my opinion.

I think I owe you a drink.

PS. Get out of my head.

When your gut instincts tell you something is wrong, trust them. When your heart tells you something is right, ignore it, check with your brain first. Accept nothing, challenge everything.

It was merely an impression, not a fact.

It was not directed at you since I know your feelings on the matter.

I'd rather never hear of the man again, to be honest; the Federation can have him. Many - though hardly all, of course - of my Tribe-siblings feel the same way.

Some of us want very, very badly to just pick up our pieces and get on with life. That is very difficult to do, when more things keep getting broken into yet more pieces.

I agree. I, for one, just want this all to be over.

Yes, I hurt.

Yes, I grieve.

Fighting over who gets to execute him only gives his 'cause' more attention.

It's time to move on and let history forget him.

I can't get rid of my darn signature!  Oh, wait....

But this really is nothing - the smallest nothing - compared to the fighting that already occurred over Broteau's fate. After all, we're simply debating in a public forum. Tens of thousands have already been killed over the man, we might as well stay 'til the end of the movie. Whatever his fate may be, I don't think it's to be forgotten.

The sad part is that may just be the case.

Darkness is more then absence of light, it is ignorance and corruption. I will be the Bulwark from such things that you may live in the light. Pray so my arms do not grow weary and my footing remain sure.

I expect a few Republic Fleet Ragnaroks to be threatening to bombard Gallente Prime before the end of the week.

Down with this sort of thing!

P

CCP, there are off buttons for ship explosions, missile effects, turret effects, etc. "Immersion" does not seem to be harmed by those. So, please give us a persisting off button for the jump gate and autoscan visuals.

Give him one of the clone mercs implants, send him to a penal colony, and force him to live out a life sentence for every person killed doing hard, exhausting, and ultimately futile labour. Or in solitary (which is actually the crueler choice)

If you kill him you only martyr him to people who share his view. And Martyrs can be REALLY bad news. People tend to copy-cat them.

So long as "dealing with him" includes sending the torn up scraps of the Federation/Republic treaties back to Shakor. In my eyes, that's the important part.

Hell, should this happen, I will happily return to the warm and welcoming arms of the Federation.

(Did I just say that? I've been drinking a little...)

Hehehe.
