We also ran into another problem with the automatic enforcement of the hardwirings so we've solved both issues with a change to the rules that is now up on the blog.

We've added or edited the following lines (first one isn't a rule change it's just a clarification):

Quote:
Genolution "CA-" implants are NOT allowed.

With the exception of leadership Mindlinks, only Hardwirings that have a name ending in "1", "2" or "3" are allowed.

Leadership Mindlinks are allowed.

Will you allow CONCORD 4% implants? They require cybernetics 3. You really need to be more thorough with these rules.

The 4%s actually don't have any fully consistent skill requirement. That's part of the reason we changed the rule.

4%s are NOT allowed this year.

Um.. shouldnt the team with the least DPS win that one? as they obv did better applying their less DPS as to still be level on points? lol

The team with the most DPS at the start of the match will win because they wish to discourage teams dedicated to uber tanking. It makes for a very boring match.

So if it comes down to it the team that went totally defensive is not likely to win in the event of a tie.

Also deals with 'lol ECM' teams. have no chance of destroying the other side, but can annoy them into the ground.

It would have been entertaining had mindlinks been "removed" from the tourney... they are very potent tools, but are also limited in the ships that can utilize them! And damn it! I still have some +6% implants I was hoping to unload this tourney cycle!

We will be providing a dedicated tournament practice server for competing teams.

Practice Server
This year we will be dedicating the Duality test server as a dedicated Alliance Tournament practice server. This will allow us to more easily tailor our updates and mirrors to the needs of tournament teams. Access to this server will be restricted to a list of pilots and/or corporations provided by each team captain or alliance executor CEO.

We expect this server will significantly streamline the tournament practice process and allow more alliances to take advantage of team practices in the lead up to the tournament. It will run the same version of EVE that will be used for the live tournament, it will not be mirrored during practice season, and it will have no daily downtime.

More information about the Duality Practice Server will be coming soon.

A note: while the pilots that fly in the tourney are obviously in alliance (so submitting things via corp there is easy), many pilots we use in practices are OOC alts, especially when setting up logistics for practicing in a WH, spying on other corps (not something agony does, but something many alliances do), and even as surrogate boosters alts and the like.

When do we need to get the names to you, and are there any limits on this?

Part of the AT spirit is spying on your opponents, is the new test server setup to limit this? Also, it would be pretty awesome if we could freely attack anyone that entered our staging system (you can't attack people without their consent on the current practice server, and this is prohibitive to self-policing roaming spies).

How will stations be seeded (fully seeded universe?), and when will the mirror happen?

For the Duality server, will you enable mission agents? Locators will make spying on other people a whole lot easier, which may be going against the reason you're picking a separate server in the first place.

i notice their is no mention of support frigates for points but there is for cruisers .. intentional???
And also no rookie ship points??

'Tech3 ships need to be put down, like a rabid dog drooling everywhere in the house, they are out of line' CCP Ytterbium Nerf missile range into place where is the TD missile change?  ..projectiles should use capacitor. ABC's should be T2 HABC and nerf web strength its still too high

All points not used will be added to the opponents score.

Because of the change to a full double-elimination bracket this rule is redundant as the total points earned is no longer a factor because there are no more qualification rounds. It does however force a few changes into fleet setups to make it as tight a fit as possible, I think this rule should be changed personally.

Points still matter for the match itself if it goes to time without everyone dying. And keeping that rule makes it harder to fit a few large ships, kill one thing and turtle for the match.

In this case support frigates fall under the normal frigate point category, so are worth 2 points.

Hi sorry if this has already been asked but can you clarify the disconnection rule as there was some confusion over it last time. -

Not that we're planning on having someone disconnect again but I was under the impression the "you get destroyed if you DC" rule was replaced with CCP just turning off emergency ewarp within that system - meaning if you disconnect you had the chance to get back in. This came from one of our pilots d/cing in the preliminary stages - everyone seemed to agree this change was pretty decent - has it been rolled back for this AT?

Overall good point setup, but I'm still puzzled why lesser used ships in previous tourneys still have high point values

(1) Navy cruiser probably should be 11 points instead of 12 points. Even very good ones, like the Vexor Navy Issue aren't as good or versatile, for example, as the Ishtar.
(2) Force recons, like the Falcon/Pilgim/Rapier/Arazu should probably be 12 or 13 points instead of 14 points. You never see them.
(3) Heavy interdictors should probably be set at 11 points, not 12 points.
(4) There should be a distinction between normal combat/attack cruisers and ewar cruisers. The ewar cruisers should probably be 8 points.

Finally, I think you should allow a flat 16 max points for logistics, however you want them distributed with logistics frigates at 3 points:

e.g.
1 T3 logi
1 T2 logi, and 1 logistics frigate
1 T1 logi and 2 logistics frigates
5 logistics frigates

Also, I was hoping for a bit of a shake-up in the tourney format itself, with the arena being more like the DUST fanfest tourney king-of-the-hill capture the beacon rather than a brawl fight. Maybe you can do something like that for a future NEO-like tourney.

I remember one ATX match Exodus vs Agony Empire. Agony brought a trick setup, and played mind games with a bait Logistics Cruiser. It took 4.5 minutes for the commentators to figure it out. I don't remember the rest of the tournament other than high dps ships blowing each other up. It seems like CCP and most other people concur that dps is the most entertaining for them, and I will see fewer of these tricks and tanks. Oh well, I suppose I will watch if I have a chance.

The only criticism I have is that, like the fanfest tournament, teams should be moved to a station with all the items seeded at jita market price and teams had to buy and speed fit their ships. I can see a few issues with that but it seems like a fun idea.

Fozzie (then Raivi) had it nailed from the beggining of the match actually. If you listen to the commentary, he talked about it before the match started. We just didn't figure it out for a few minutes.

"Jita Market Price" is a variable and "seeding" insinuates creating them from thin air. The point of the AT has always been that isk is at risk.

Also producers make a lot of money off of the tournament and already have their plans ready to go to keep up with the supply.

Also, no Tyrrax.
