Wrecker

Name
Wrecker

Weight Class
Light Cruiser

Affilation
Thukker Tribe

Ship Type
Reclimation Ship

The nomadic tribes of the Thukker have always been out and about in space. In order to survive they let nothing go to waste not even a destroyed ship. The wrecker excells at dissasmbly of wrecks and trash floating in space and maximising usable materials out of either source. Materials extracted are oftenly used in construction of customized modules and ships to meet the tribesmen's needs.

Anyways I think I am getting closer to my goal, this one took about 6hrs which is a new record for a high detail full color for me.

That's very decent, nice concept art. Although I must admit I am not very sure about the flat hexagon front. I know ships do not have to be aerodynamic in space, but they needn't look too ugly. We already have ugly Blink

Although as you say being a reclamation class vessel, flat front for cargo loading is functional.

Well done.

You also have to consider that it is a thukker designed ship, who cant say they repurposed a storage can for a cargobay?

Neat. Smile

Kinda looks like they strapped a cockpit and some thrusters on a cargo container.

I like the art, but I question what role the ship could have. A second Noctis? Something else/weirder?

If you look for my idea in FnI I reworked Salvagers (just like how i reworked Analzyers, and Code Breakers) to the point that there can now be a specialist ship and a full profession.

Thukker ships excell at higher yeilds and hazmat transportation in thier fight against space garbage as salvaging a trashball in an asteriod belt can often be a deadly chore like hauling in a deadnaught magazine and having it explode is not good for the notcis as it damages hull directly if it went off, and unexploded magazines are the least of your worries that you can potentially harvest from trashballs. Thukker ships can safely disarm such nunances.

Thukker ships also get more scrap parts, these are a secondary loot that you get with rig parts, scrap parts are used to build custom modules invented by archeaologist as welll as standard meta level items.

They can also be used to build junker modules, ammo, and ships all of which have something a bit extra at the cost of thier HP. Junker ships for example have four rig slots and additional calibration but the loss of hp may warrent thier disuse. Junker modules are very customizable with built rigs for them however overheating them is a bad idea as they do not last at all when stressed.

Sensors and bridge area was entirely armored off with glass. Which is why it looks oversized a bit because of the radiation shields they had to install between the sensors and the bridge area to prevent the command crew from being cooked by the said sensors.

it looks like a mix of a typhoon hull (the hexagon bit) and the bridge section of a tempest with some engine strapped on

well done it looks good

also OP you should put a link where we can view all your designs into your sig :)

Everytime you buy something that says "made in china" you are helping the rising unemployment in your own country unless you are from china, Buy locally produced goods and help create more jobs.

Yup they have, you forgot to mention a grinder and a crane on the other side but they're sorta hard to see.

Nova Fox you have a wicked cool gallery of ships on dA.

If I may, you should bring out sharpness defining lines on your ships, it would bold the curvature designs and make it seem like a solid object, more 3D.

I'm sure they'd like a more effective tear reclamation and extraction ship.

It looks ****. A kindergarden level of detail. The perspective looks wrong.

No front view or side views?

At least I didn't MC Escher it like I did my last minmatar ship :( Most noticable from aft going forward. This is what I got for trying to use true perspective instead of isometric.

Also I just rechecked my lines its still isometric on all the major geometry thus your prespective comment is off.

Next off LOD on a ship this small is a BAD idea, becuase when you start to overload the details you lose command of the viewers eyes, Strong composition DEMANDS and CONTROLS viewer flow.

Overload details just creats alot of noise that the eyes simply will not be drawn to. In most starships cases you want to draw attention to a few major areas.

Bridge function and engines. Everything else is just there for flavor, You can make an awfully simple detailed ship very awsome with minimal amounts of details as long as you hit up these three spots.

Take this ship for example. Not a single bolt and less than a dozen panels and only four sections, yet its pertty awsome.

Currently my 'blueprint' is on paper, Im debating if I should transfer it to the screen or leave it as is and move onto to my next ship project.
