This may be wrong post if so let it be moved, however im thinking of doing lv 4 missions, with a maelstrom, fitted with a 100mn ab question is with t1 guns and mediocre skills in large guns, would i want autocannon (which one) or 1200/1400, and why, i can use t2 drones up to medium should i get stasis web drones if i go with arty.

If you have any example of good medium skilled fits around feel free to link them.

autocannons (800s) for angels, 1200s for everything else. 1400s are ok if you have good gunnery skills but their tracking is barely passable, that's why many people prefer 1200s.
also try to squeeze at least one tracking computer into your fit, it will help you with range/tracking, depending on the weapons.

oh, and use faction ammo with arty, it has a very low RoF, so you get a lot of bang for your buck.

1200 until you get your gun supports to 5 (particular ones being trajectory analysis and sharpshooter) since autocannons will have really bad range on an unbonused hull.

1400s fire too slowly for pve thats why 1200s are preferable

try something like that, the faction booster is relatively cheap for a faction module (around 60m) but it's a very worthy upgrade over the meta 4 and since the hull alone costs around 200m I don't see why you shouldn't get it.

This fit has a 931 DPS tank vs angels (not stable ofc) and around 600 turret DPS at 30ish km depending on your skills. You're mainly going to fight in falloff and your optimal engagement range is going to be around 60-70km depending on skills and you will do around 500 DPS at that range.

Once you do hit level 5 gunnery supports and get tech 2 projectiles, switch it up for autocannons
