Kill rights?

Sorry if inappropriate forum but I have a question that I would love answered.

I was out in the fields mining ice when a suicide ganker warped in 300km away and popped another ice miner. Ever the hero I warped on top of the suicide gankers wreck (graciously provided by concord) and sent my drones after his pod. I managed to avenge the fellow miner... But does this now mean that the suicide ganker has kill rights on me and can shoot me as he pleases or am I still under the protection of concord?

If you look in the killrights section of your character sheet you should be able to see all the killrights you have and all those others have on you, but no, killing someone with a Global Criminal Counter (GCC)/flashy red does not generate a killright.

Go with the Code.

Highsec is owned by players now. Systems 0.5-1.0 are New Order Territory. All miners and other residents of Highsec must obey The Code. Mining without a permit is dangerous and harmful to the EVE community. See www.MinerBumping.com

He probably had a criminal flag from suiciding the miner, so you were free to engage him. That also means he didnt get killrights on you.

Though, I looked up the kill (http://eve-kill.net/?a=kill_detail&kll_id=17992666) and he lost some pretty expensive implants. It might be safe to say he will be out looking for you, with or without killrights :)

he will have a limited engagement with you which means for the next 5 minutes he can freely attack you without concord intervention.

Except for the fact he will still have a 15 minute criminal timer from the suicide gank, so if he tries undocking a ship during that 5 minutes, he'll get insta-popped by concord again.

Don't worry OP, you're in the clear.

Gotta love a game that cleans up it's own messes.

A suicide ganker with a mining foreman mindlink.........there's something fishy going on here.......What?

I have deliberately developed an air of cynicism that I originally intended to make me appear somewhat louche and caddish but actually comes across as irritable hostility combined with the unspoken threat of sudden violence.....

^^ My thoughts exactly!!!

I then looked up his killboard record... He's not a suicide ganker, nor much of a PvP'er. I can't figure out why he was attacked by concord!

That was a very nice pod kill though!!! Mining Mindlinks are very bling!

Maybe he podded the miner instead of the ganker? ;)

I figured it was a miner dispute over a rock. Both parties have weird killboards. Lol

C'mon OP we need more of this story that guy had a weird implant for a suicide ganker and if you did get concorded for taking out the wrong pod then...yes ..yes you do have a public killright.

Nah it looks like the guy who was podded was in a Disco Ferox earlier (whut?) perhaps the competition for rocks is heating up in the run up to Odyssey?
