Wait wait wait wait. I don't even remember seeing this May 15th thing posted. Seems idiocy to post a join date before you even post the announcement of the tourney and rules and so forth. If that stands we do not have a legit team and I will be VERY disappointed.

sux 2 b u

(this team padding **** is exactly what they were trying to counter)

We have a long history of running in the AT, we are just generally scattered to the wind until then. I found the announcement, under a blog post that looked like it was a call for commentators so I didn't even look at it. FML. I will not be happy if our team has to miss the tourney and not bring back the blaster Moa

May i ask why the stricter rules on implants this year? sad panda :(

Also can we plz have a DEV team entered? :P we need more drama and conspiracy theorys when the DEV team beats a player one

Um.. shouldnt the team with the least DPS win that one? as they obv did better applying their less DPS as to still be level on points? lol

I mean, we can run with the people we have on board right now but we will be missing a couple of key people and won't be able to field a full setup. I mean the way that blog was worded was terribad. Made it look like it was just about commentator stuff. We can adapt if we have to but we won't be able to give it our all.

maybe ccp wanted to give a chance to poor alliances, but done it in :ccp: way. instead of moving AT to test server, where you can show just your skill, not your wallet - they hit expensive gear (and screwing the fitting of many ships without PG 6%)

also, yeah, is Mindlinks allowed? current rules suggest that not

Fights are limited to 10 minutes. If a fight reaches time, it will be stopped and whichever team has the higher total points value will be declared winner. See "Victory Conditions", below.

and

Quote:

During a match, a team scores points for each enemy ship it kills, equal to the tournament points value of that ship. The team that has scored the most points at the conclusion of the match, or that destroys the entire opposing team, is the winner.

If a team chooses to field less than 100 points, non-fielded points count towards the opponent's score.

If a fight is tied after 10 minutes, time dilation will be used to progressively speed up the tournament solar system and encourage a prompt end to the match.

In the very unlikely case that a fight is tied after 15 minutes, the victory will be awarded to the team that had more collective potential team DPS at the beginning of the match, as measured by the tournament automated “attack bar”.

are not completely clear.

The first paragraph says fights are stopped after ten minutes. Whilst the second part talks about ties without stating what you define as a tie. eg ships still on the field = still tied?

Can I suggest dropping the first paragraph I quoted and re-wording Victory Conditions something more like:

Quote:

Fights run for up to 10 minutes of normal time, followed by up to 5 minutes of overtime. During overtime, time dilation will be used to progressively speed up the tournament solar system and encourage a prompt end to the match.

During a match, a team scores points for each enemy ship it kills, equal to the tournament points value of that ship. If a team chooses to field less than 100 points, non-fielded points will be added to the opponent's score at the start of the match.

Destroying the entire opposing team is an immediate win.

If there is no clear winner at the end of normal time, the team that has scored the most points will be declared winner. If points are tied, the match will continue non-stop into overtime.

In the very unlikely case that a fight is tied after overtime, the victory will be awarded to the team that had more collective potential team DPS at the beginning of the match, as measured by the tournament automated “attack bar”.

Your lack of awareness combined with the astonishing amount of whinging from Tyrrax last topic only serves to reinforce the notion that your "tightly-knit" team is actually just one of convenience. There are still outlets for teams like that: the SCL, as well as the NEO if CCP choose to run that again.

Oh another one. Will the fights be posted promptly to YouTube?

Personally I have problems with the Twitch TV live streams, and using their service for catch-up is fairly awful. The delays getting the Fanfest stuff up on YouTube meant that I've not seen a lot of the stuff I was interested in, and it's now getting to the stage where I can't really be bothered.

If I recall correctly you had the fights up on YouTube within 24 hours last year - woud be nice to see this level of service again.

Shouldn't you be upvoting Mittani's story some more?

Oh wait, let me guess. Still bitter from when we executed a flawless victory on the #1 seeded Goonswarm team from AT 7.

It's a picture of the 'The More You Know' star animation, but instead of 'The More You Know' it says 'Ad Hominem Alert'.

Entry for the random draw will be 5 PLEX per alliance. Each alliance who wishes to enter the draw must submit 5 PLEX, in the redeeming system of the CEO of the executor corporation, which will be withdrawn before the draw. All PLEX will be retained by CCP and teams who are not successful in the random draw can use these PLEX to bid for a spot through the auction. If you are not successful in either the random draw or auction, your 5 PLEX will be refunded to the CEO character of the alliance executor corporation.

Just to clarify, before over 9000 people ask about this: once a team fails the random draw, they have the choice of making a bid (presumably minimum bid is 5 plex), and then submit a further {number of plex bid - 5} to the redeeming system if they win?

+1 to the question about mindlinks - dev blog implies they are not allowed.

Also, T1 Support Frigates aren't specifically mentioned in the points value chart. Are they worth 2 points, like a (non-disruption) frigate, or are they worth some other value that just didn't get listed on the chart?

Mindlinks were an oversight on my end, wasn't thinking of them as hardwirings

We also ran into another problem with the automatic enforcement of the hardwirings so we've solved both issues with a change to the rules that is now up on the blog.

We've added or edited the following lines (first one isn't a rule change it's just a clarification):

Quote:
Genolution "CA-" implants are NOT allowed.

With the exception of leadership Mindlinks, only Hardwirings that have a name ending in "1", "2" or "3" are allowed.

Leadership Mindlinks are allowed.

Removing mindlinks would have been a very significant change to the tournament meta which would have been nice, but on the whole we decided that it would remove more interesting options than it would add.

The team with the most DPS at the start of the match will win because they wish to discourage teams dedicated to uber tanking. It makes for a very boring match.

So if it comes down to it the team that went totally defensive is not likely to win in the event of a tie.
