There is already a thread on this. But here's the text if people prefer that to the link.

CCP Eterne wrote:

New Caldari – Speaking for the first time since Caldari Navy Executive Officer Mininela Erinen testified that he forced Admiral Visera Yanala to undergo the Tea Maker Ceremony, a harried Tibus Heth attempted to apologize for and defend his actions. Before he could finish, the assembled crowd broke into a riot and forced Heth off stage.

Rather than broadcasting the speech from a secured location, Heth chose to speak before assembled workers for Caldari Constructions. He began by saying, “Loyal Caldari citizens, I come before you today to address the testimony delivered to the Chief Executive Panel two days ago. It is with a heavy heart that I must tell you the testimony is, while over dramatized and colored with bias, essentially true.”

The crowd began to grow rowdy, though Heth attempted to continue speaking over them. “It is with great sadness that I reveal this information to you. I acted only in the best interests of the State in making this decision. Admiral Yanala informed me she disobeyed a direct order and allowed her ship to be destroyed by Gallente forces. She showed no remorse for her actions and was defiant in front of both myself and the Navy's executive officer.

“In light of her treasonous actions, I gave her a final act to prove her honor by drinking the hak'len tea. She did so and the Maker did not protect her, so her life was forfeit. It was only later, after the CEP and Caldari Navy investigated further, that it was revealed that the battle was a lost cause and Admiral Yanala had acted to preserve lives.

“I admit I acted with haste. But a leader must act decisively in such situations. I regret my actions in retrospect, but Visera - ”

At this point, a member of the crowd hurled a bottle at the stage. Provist security immediately leapt into the crowd to detain the perpetrator, but the crowd broke into a riot and began assaulting the guards. Heth momentarily attempted to appeal for calm, but was quickly whisked off stage by his handlers. Order was restored shortly after by Provists and law enforcement, with 23 reported wounded, including one in critical condition.

Heth has made no statement since the riot, while a full board meeting of the Chief Executive Panel has been called.

I urge people to calm. There is already an investigation ongoing by the CEP.

Let us observe due process and avoid further injury.

If Heth doesn't step down by the end of June, he will be a dead man.

So we have a confession. Heth killed Admiral Yanala for "treason." And that means he gave the order to fire on Caldari Prime.

I'm still having trouble wrapping my head around the notion that a man who claims to be a patriot could ever bring himself to commit such vile treason. Heth has lost all right to call himself Caldari.

Despite this sounding like a cliché, I feel it is appropriate here:

Most of us already believed the "clone failure" to be mathmatically impossible and knew the nefarious hand of Heth was close behind it.

So were there any leaks from the Caldari Board of Inquiry? Seriously. I know of several Holoreel makers who would pay some serious isk for the rights to make this movie!! I can only imagine that an outcome that forces a capsuleer into permanent death would have some emotions running pretty highly... in point of fact it was probably the most interesting BOI ever conducted by any navy.. ever!

Just when I thought the Caldari served no purpose whatsover in this galaxy I had completely overlooked your entertainment value. You don't need to send your warships over our worlds and engage our navy to kill us. Nope. A few more newsreports about your politics and all Gallenteans will die laughing.

If it was possible to do that, Muck Raker would have murdered us all by now, Captain Sorjat.

If he keeps announces a plan to step down ahead of time and sits still with his mouth shut until that time, he may get out of this with his life.

Of course, the Caldari State is ripe for revolution. One tiny incident, something that Heth may not even have control over, will be enough to do him in.

As much as I hope for a peaceful change in power, we all know that can't happen now. Even if Heth steps down, the power vacuum that would result from that would certainly cause some blood to spill.

That particular stone was cast a while ago. The Avalanche is building and Heth seems determined to stay in it's path.

I suspect he will not survive learning why remaining in the path of an Avalanche is a terrible plan.

Just for the record, whenever he finally dies, I'm going to be throwing a party.

I suggest interested parties stock up on fine alcohol now, before demand spikes prices.

I find it interesting that Heth said that he only later realized that Yanala acted to save lives, what, with him ordering her to fire a doomsday weapon on the planet and all.

The Caldari put business before pleasure. The Gallente put business in pleasure.
