Luminaire – Grene Broteau, the mass-shooter who killed 59 Minmatar and injured hundreds during a rampage in April, was today found guilty in Caille District Court of 59 counts of first degree murder, 362 counts of assault with a deadly weapon, and 12 counts of mayhem with the intent to incite terror, along with numerous other charges.

Once he's been sentenced and due process has been observed, and assuming that the decision at the sentencing hearing isn't to end his sorry existence, they can ******* have him.

People like Broteau should have no place in the Federation. They stand more against its ideals than anyone else in the cluster.

Hopefully this whole saga will soon come to an end, I hope that the Gallente Federation will not do anything further to agitate the Minmatar Republic. If It was me responsible he would executed

Yes, because blaming others for actions you took is the way to mend frayed relationships. It's like an abusive partner screaming "LOOK AT WHAT YOU MADE ME DO."

I hope he gets the sentencing Federal dictates is appropriate and it's carried out soon, then we can move on from this for the good of everyone. Man has had too much attention as it is to glorify his horrific actions.

I expect a few Republic Fleet Ragnaroks to be threatening to bombard Gallente Prime before the end of the week.

Sounds like justice has been served, and yet I am still reading of protests from Minmatar representatives. They do themselves absolutely no credit.

His sentence should be an extradition to the Republic.

I like how you can switch 'an extradition to the Republic' with 'being tossed to the lions' and get the same, exact meaning out of this sentence.

More that it would make the Republic government look incredibly infantile for their impatience, if they end up getting their man in the end.

You make it sound like invading your strongest ally with a dreadnaught squadron when you don't get your way is a bad thing.

I agree with Mr. Inhonores, the Republic will punish him far more severely than our justice system will even allow, and it will make the Republic government look very childish.

Of course, when a child throws a tantrum, giving them what they want only paves the way for more tantrums with increasing severity. Sending Broteau over to the Republic is a lose - lose for us. At this point we should do what will repair relations (as much as they don't deserve a repair) and prevent the loss of life.

Well, look at the alternatives. The Federation could have him immolated before a crowd...

I, for one, will be extremely surprised should there ultimately be no fallout from that.

I'd prefer he disappear; he'd be tortured, receive whatever rites he desires, killed, and dumped in an unmarked grave.

Doesn't the Federation have some sort of law against cruel and unusual punishment?

Interrogation and rehabilitation. Anything else is playing with the counter productive base desires such as revenge. Immolation of this man may remove a threat, but so does reeducation. If your people are to advance you need to think further ahead then bashing someone's skull in because it makes you feel warm inside.

You and I (and anyone who witnessed the debacle surrounding Anvent Eturrer's execution) know better than that, Rodj.

I don't think it was cruel considering the man cost us millions of lives. Certainly unusual though but in a good way.

I think he should be extradited, if only to interrogate him properly.

Also the tribal council owes the Federation an apology, since Coleile was apparently not anything strategic but rather a hissy fit according to their own statement.

I guess I can see why one would think the trial went too quick, but I'm not sure why the tribals would feel that way.* I'm perplexed.
And what exactly is the point of a trial if the convicted is going to be trialed again for the same transgressions before the sentencing hearing of the first trial took place? Are the tribals not satisfied with the guilty verdict? I'm perplexed. Really.

Edit: * There is sarcasm in this line somewhere.
