No they won't since: booster drugs = benefits + potential for drawbacks => fairly balanced (plus it's on-grid).

Bring your own, problem solved.

It makes literally ZERO sense from a business perspective for them to remove OGB, I mean sure, it will appeal to the whining masses; but boosts are used in roles outside of PvP- If you want to stay competitive do what you have to do. It's not like Shadow Cartel doesn't drop Triage in fights against people incapable of dropping Triage; why should people who actually paid for and trained an alt to fill that role have that time taken away from them because you're unwilling to do it?

This is coming from someone without a Leadership alt.

i too support golden bullets. Let's make CCP add it!

I've seen the argument of 'CCP won't nerf X - too many people give them subscriptions for it!' at least twice before. The first was just prior to the final nano nerf - circa 2009. People had invested lots of isk into snake implants and expensive gear. 200-300m crows were pretty standard. The second occasion was shortly thereafter where everyone and their mom had a falcon alt. At both times CCP eventually pulled the trigger on a rebalance/ nerf. People using this argument are going to be very disappointed.

The rebalancing team has stated that they don't like OGB and intend to kill it in a fire. I don't know how much more of a sign a person needs to understand that the status quo is going to change. The level of benefits you get are ridiculous. I have always marveled that the signature reduction I get from a Loki booster surpasses the effects I receive from my 1 billion + HG Halo implants.

With regards to the OP - if you see 17 OGB in local then most pilots have 'adapted' or shown elite 'organizational skill.' But guess what? Except for a few nerds no one really likes it.

Tell me more about solo gameplay in an MMO; the only thing worse than that guy in highsec bashing his head against a wall of level 4 missions and deriving some sort of pleasure out of his little bubble of solo game play, are the massive 'faglords' who try and apply that principle to PvP.

If you want to solo, you're at a disadvantage and you know it- complaining about it just makes you look mentally deficient.

You simply cannot be this thick.

I don't give a flying **** about fair. Eve isn't supposed to be fair. OGB's are a terrible mechanic that affects gameplay in a pretty adverse way. Nerf links and bring them on grid and i don't give a **** about people using them to dishonour whatever fight they want.

Fair doesn't matter. Good, fun gameplay does matter.

It also just gives a fraction of the boosts links give.

active tanks are basically crap without OGB

only spendy shield tanks on shield bonused ships get close to useful solo

axe OGB boost and nerf the links, but give active a little boost overall.

its not always about who can go 10k/s and point from the next system

First of all. Active armor and shield setups were fine before the introduction of auxiliary shield booster and armor repair. Now they're even better. I used active setups solo since 2008 against multiple ships at once. However I had to choose those engagements carefully and put more thought into seperating there damage.

Same thing applies. Infact I have been solo and dual pvping in a Gnosis and you get what you pay for and who you choose to engage. Clearly I have done well with them so far with some exceptions. Same with ships like the Hawk and Cyclone.

There are suppose to be limits to active denfense setups because otherwise we would have ASB's ON EVERYTHING plus resistence modules for recieving HP from a logistics ship.

So NO! Active setups were viable for a long time and without putting much isk into them. Well! Other than active shield setups sub battleship without crystals. ASB has changed that though v0v

P sure that Gallente fleet we engage in dual Gnosis without ganglinks had a hard time esploding us. Infact we won engagements like that twice! Also not to long ago I was tanking (barely) 7 - 10 stealth bombers a vexor and caracal in a Rokh not to long ago. All without OGB.

Still. OGB is hella useful and yeah. Most of the people using them now will just start using logistics, falcon, or scouting alts again when they lame you. Though that is less of an issue compared to OGB. Maybe not the falcon though Straight

I liked the last 'blah blah blah nerf this' about titan bridges better.

This is already full of the same tryhards, spouting off the same tryhard excuses. They have links in x system, in y POS- but no, I won't do anything about it. Nobody likes shooting structures, except for a certain GoonSwarm FC I know, but if it makes terrorizing mine enemy that much easier, you bet your ass I will RF/Kill that tower.

They're only invulnerable if your laziness allows them to be, if you're a button pusher in a small gang, it's perfectly viable to be scanning on a second screen while you're being gang warped around a system/orbiting a button for 15 in FW.

You do actually care about 'fair' you're just synonymously changing your argument to other words to dance around my counter point, they arn't invulnerable, they are easy to kill- and they take a significant investment from the player through either time or isk to attain. Just because you're a lazy player doesn't mean that person has a game-breaking advantage over anyone, 90% of the pilots in FW are terrible, and are using pirate implant sets and links to mask their badness as much as you let them.

Links don't make you a good player, certain ships should be obvious, everyone should be assumed to have links, and if there was ever a reason to get to know what you can comfortably engage in whatever it is you prefer to fly- this would be even more of a reason; but yeah- absolutely, they should nerf links because you're too lazy to sort out who lives where and flies what.

The devs put out a blog on changes to the strength imbalances between of tech IIIs and command ships. Until their grand plan of removing the off-grid booster is complete surely they could just implement the proposed nerf to the power of Tech III command links.

It's very simple, and will partially fix the problem, tamp down the complaints, and maybe make command ships relevant again until the grand fix. All it would take is a simple change in one value in the database.

So, I'm beginning to believe the economic self-serving argument. Somehow they perceive the loss of accounts if they actually fix the stupidity of an off-grid I-win button.

However, to just drop the 5% link bonuses to the 2% they've already said they will do will not kill off the use of Off-grid alts, I suspect. But it would accomplish a whole lot in fixing the imbalance they create.

edit - and it would do so sooner than "soon" or "before the end of time"Roll

CCP, there are off buttons for ship explosions, missile effects, turret effects, etc. "Immersion" does not seem to be harmed by those. So, please give us a persisting off button for the jump gate and autoscan visuals.

People just need to learn to fight against unlikely odds Roll

The fact that a linked condor won't engage a small gang of frigates or cruisers is really sad, and if he's that risk averse about losing a 10mill frigate then he should return to highsec and Tengu link his CNR through level 4 missions.

You are right, the tears will be great, problem is it will be the same bunch crying and lost OGB alts will suddenly be Falcon alts only the excuse for losing the fight although similar will be one vital word diference, " because of Falcon " instead of " because of links. "

That is the difference. Actually ogb make killmails worthless. You have a really good killmail and everyone will say: "How many ogb did you have?" instead of "Good piloting"

I wonder why they don't simply nerf them down to a reasonable percentage. Everything in this game is about diminishing returns EXCEPT fleet boosters.

1. Easy to kill if you happen to solo roam with a probing alt in tow that you can somehow use to probe out the enemies link alt while fighting him.. Sure...

2. No i don't care about fair, i'm in Dread Cartel for fucks sake. A ship providing a 50% boost without requiring to be piloted; with absolutely minimal risk (Or no risk at all if its posed up) is terrible, terrible gameplay.
