Fleet UI - OP has changed since Dev post

to add to this I had this idea;

Save fleet wing squad configuration and names for them. Simply click the upper left corner and select a saved template.
I would love this. We always make fleets and having a template could save me a bunch of time building it. I would imagine many FC's know where they want people and rename squads and all that to help this. It basically is the same thing as a loadable overview except for your fleet.

What FCs need is not a way to control their members, its a way to inform their members what they should do, listening to 400 ppl talking on ts or mumble sometimes makes it impossible to hear what the FC says, we dont need warp fleet, or align fleet, we need Broadcast Align target, broadcast warp, Request ready status (people that clicks yes turns green on the FC window for the FC), and thats about it.

That is not a problem with fleet UI but with discipline in your fleet. Also FC can already broadcast align and warp targets. As for ready status - it is surely nice feature to add, because current "at position" only creates flood in broadcasts. As a workaround - FC may ask to broadcast shield/armor/cap and visually see amount of pilots that are ready.

I would like to see a new corporate office 'war room' with all the mods and cons as well as giving fleet/force commanders more tools (map readouts, instant upto date intel on movements and so on) bringing eves fleet warfare out of the damned dark ages

Well, it seems that the Odyssey expansion will not feature our ideas about this Fleet UI.
Let's hope it will be the case for the next expansion. ;)

I've only just caught onto this Idea and read the first 2 full pages and scanned the other two but:

@OP: If you change the description use a [ s ] at the start of the old one and an [ / s ] at the end to score it out (without the spaces of course) and then type EDIT: followed by your new idea.

@Taliah Meyhin: Awesome mockups and props to you along with a few 'Likes'.

So my thoughts on this Idea:

In the mock-up there needs to be more visual and less reading. As someone before said the status should be like a traffic light system:

Green = Ready
Amber = In warp\aligning
Red = Not reading

The columns should be customisable via the 'Fleet Options' button at the top.
I like the Icon basis for broadcasts. Taking it further you could add some colour: Need Shield make it blue with the current Icon. Need Armour make it Red. Need Cap make that son-of-a-gun green etc etc etc.

I like the way you guys have come together to get this ball rolling and helped each other. That's what part of EVE and the community is about and OP, you get a +1 form me and this would be fricking awesome to have.

well I think definate things that could easilly improve the FC experience:

1) An "is AFK" indicator (automatically triggered when player has no activity for 5 min or something)
2) Enable an FC to give positional orders while on grid
3) FCs should get real time updates as to the location of their pilots
4) Broadcasts should be some other color than white.
5) Broadcasted targets should be easier to select from space, not using the overview.
6) allow eve voice to have priority speakers.


Some explaination for 2:

An FC may send to the HUD of a pilot in his fleet a proposed order (such as orbit, or hold this position) and this shows up as a red or gold symbol which the pilot can SINGLE LEFT click to execute the order. This ISN"T THE FC flying other player's ships, its the FC suggesting orders.

I feel that this is still a good topic, as nothing has really changed to the fleet UI, and this would be a good feature

I don't know but it annoys the hell out of me. If you like it, post in it and that bumps it and keep it alive for others to find and comment on is my rule.
