Put the graphical damage warnings back in!

I know a lot of people complained about them, but is it possible to get them added back via a checkbox or something in the warning configuration area?

For myself, sometimes I don't hear the warnings if I've got other things going on (music) or the warnings are diminished in value when an external source is playing the warning sounds in order to troll people (Eve-Radio comes to mind). If my attention is on what (or who) I'm trying to kill rather than watching my armor/shield/hull/cap closely, a visual alert can be extremely helpful in those kinds of situations. Other people may also have this same kind of situation, and still others play with the sounds turned off altogether.

Configuration needn't be complicated or difficult. Use the existing configuration panel, and simply add a checkbox to turn the graphical warnings on or off. The existing checkbox can be used for the audio warnings, allowing you to have a choice of audio warning, visual warning, none or both and what % you want them to show at. If true fanciness is desired, give the visual warnings their own % slider so that you can hear a warning at one % and then see one at a different %. For example, hearing the hull alarm at 85% is good. It lets me know that I should consider getting out. When the hull drops to 45% though, it's absolutely time to leave and "Structure Critical" on the screen would simply make that point more strongly.

Either way, we were told "highly configurable" and then the warnings turned out to be less configurable than we had hoped and so they were removed entirely. This kind of idea should, I think, allow the degree of customization required for them to go back in.

How about the ability to click on your shield/armor/hull level displays to dismiss it?

While that could work as well, the main complaint seemed to be that they weren't as configurable as had been hoped and that some people didn't want to see them at all in the first place.

Graphical warnings are cool, leave them !

And it's an UI, it should be configurable, especially this point so essential for the integrity of our ship !
I would love to be able to set a red instead of white graphical warning for shield / armor, btw :p

Unfortunately, they already did remove them.

Personally, I rather enjoyed having a UI that more closely resembled the Origins trailer and found it somewhat more immersive. The practical reasons I listed above are true too.

Well, I'd like to have them too, but in a more configurable state than they were. It was very disappointing to see the display couldn't be moved around like the other message boxes are, and that needed fixing.

But otherwise, I'm in favour of their reintroduction Smile

I believe it's not the case, because this feature was cool to most players, i hope they bring it back, maybe some polishing that's why they remove it for now

As far as I can tell, they removed it due to some people complaining about how "I know when I'm in armor" and "I know when I'm in hull" and "I don't want to have a big flashy thing all the time just because my hull is at 99% and I didn't fix it lately" and a few people saying "We were told it would be highly configurable and this isn't."

With time fast running out the Text Alerts were removed as it was felt that they lacked visual quality and we didn't have time to make them better. Disappointing I know but it was as simple as that.

I see, interesting.

Is there any possibility that they may be re-introduced with better quality later, perhaps in a point release? Maybe 1.2 or (if it gets to that) 1.3?

Honestly, I'd even settle for the Winter Expansion.

You guys should add in the "Warning" with the little boxes that was shown in the video.

That is extremely disappointing to hear. I sincerely hope you can make time to add them back in.

Thank god they removed them. I'm not apposed to them being re-introduced as long as it's optional and that option isn't tied to audio alerts.

I can't imagine how little dying you people do who want them back.

I can't imagine how long you spend in the process of dying that they should be bothersome. Every fight I've ever seen or been involved in always ends in hull damage being accrued rather quickly, culminating in the loss of a ship.

As for myself, I generally spend plenty of time in the "Shield Warning" and "Armor Warning" areas. On SiSi at least, I also spend a fair bit of time in the "Structure Critical" zone since everything's super-cheap and there's no reason not to fully risk the ship in order to push the tank 100%.

Also, you may be interested to know that the audio alerts are now constant, with a continual sound playing after the initial warning buzzer. The hull warning in particular is especially hard to ignore.

Pod ejection transition no longer triggering when ejecting using right clic menu. I hope this isn't intended.

I quite liked the warnings. It would be awesome if they were polished and introduced at a later date. Perhaps make them optional, though...
