Any free thinking peoples that accepted such amnesty should now be eagerly looking for their escape. As it is only a matter of time before you are crushed by these "open arms" the Amarr offer.

I applaud the Empress' wisdom in this matter.

The first generation dusters all suffer from a dark and terrible madness. If they choose not to seek aid, the Empire is right to defend itself.

All is a fairly strong word. She turned on her Templars before. I would hate to see more fall prey to paranoia.

My apologies in advance for such bold wonderings, but something that troubles me: the Empress Jamyl I has said that she understands 'more than any can know.' Given her at times curious statements, I wonder if it's possible that she has used Sleeper-based implant technology, herself...?

This is not to besmirch the Empire, the Faith, or its adherents -- but merely to put forth an idea that may give reason for all to be vigilant.

As I understand it, when first-gens go to the Empire for aid, they have their original implant removed and replaced with the standard one current clone soldiers use. At that point, they're no long 'first-gens' and so are free to act as regular dust mercenaries. Though no doubt, there's lots of Imperial propaganda about joining the glorious ranks of Amarr's army or Amarr aligned corporations.

I suspect that many of the original soldier test subjects might want to retire from the mercenary life or at least spend several years in mental health facilities before rejoining the population at large.

I'm not sure what you mean by 'sleeper based implant.'

The idea that the Empress of the Amarr would have experimental technology shoved in her head for no apparent reason is an odd one though.

Perhaps one of her close friends or family is among the first generation of clone troopers?

Impossible. Anyone from the royal family would never fight as an infantryman, and any friends would likely be nobility, for which the same applies. No, more likely is that she was the one who commissioned them in the first place, and now feels a terrible sense of guilt and regret for doing so.

Be that as it may, I believe the Templars may hide deep in low-security space and form a group of themselves, their sympathizers, and their comrades away from their oppressive creators. If such occurs, I will likely be one of their supporters. I cannot stand idly by while the Empire purges its own former servants.

It's just a shame that you got it wrong.
