Arzad resecured by Imperial forces, new Stargates the cause ?

The system of Arzad, home to the planet occasionally called "Starkman Prime", which was inhabited by the Starkmanir Tribe, has been retaken by Amarr forces!

The planet of Starkman Prime was where the Starkmanir Rebellion took place, when the Starkmanir population, angry at being denied the ability to worship in the way taught to them by Saint Arzad Hamri, after whom the system takes its name, rebelled against the rule of the Amarr Holders who restricted their religious freedoms. The result was the death of the then head of the Ardishapur Family, which led to the bombardment of Starkmanir Prime.

The system has long been in the possession of Republic forces, having been captured in the early stages of the Militia Wars, and was a key base for Tribal Liberation Force pilots, to launch actions against Imperial forces within Devoid and The Bleak Lands.

Recently, and to the surprise of many, new stargates were constructed in the militia warzone, and it has been suggested that these new stargates led to the fall of Arzad. These stargates drastically changed the shape of the warzone, opening up choke points, allowing Imperial raiding forces to roam across Heimatar and Metropolis.

"Amarr ships, building stargates, they need to be stopped!" said one woman.
"They could build one right into Pator!" said a worried looking man.

With the Sarum Family having constructed new barge type spaceships, and the Imperial Crusade forces taking control of many systems in the warzones, it would seem to be a worrying time for the handful of residents that remain in the area, most civilians having become refugees flocking to the safety of Pator and other Republic core systems.

Amarr commentators have said that perhaps it is time that the Republic leadership reflected on the message of one of the Empress's recent speeches, where she suggested that "What people give to the Empire, I shall give to them", and that perhaps the Republic should consider suing for peace.

Gutter Press will continue to monitor this situation.

This is an interesting turn of events. I believe this is the first time I've seen a more serious piece from Gutter Press.

I found it educational and look forward to more in the future.

Second time, they're rare but rather refreshing, like a cool breeze mixed with warm rain.

What nonsense.

Arzad was reclaimed by the unceasing effort of hundreds of Amarrian pilots and the blood of thousands of martyrs to the Amarrian cause.

Changes in spatial geography had nothing to do with it.

Astrography, you mean. Although, a more accurate term would be cosmopolitics. The construction of new trans-border infrastructure and increasing avenues of attack, while frustrating defense will have a troubling consequence in this war.

Why in fate's name the war continues, of course, I have no idea.
