Nvidia TESLA C2070 Video Card: Eve Problems.

So I recently spent some money on new computer parts and wanted to play some eve to try them out.

I have an NVIDIA TESLA C2070 Video Card which has 6gb of Video Ram. The Optimize feature in eve dose not seem to work with this card and while eve runs it dose not seem to make full use of the video card. I tried loading station environment and alot of stuff would glitch if I changed my outfit or clothing articles.

All my drivers are up to date and I already deleted my eve cache.

Any ideas?

So I am going to take a guess and say CCP is not providing support for such higher end video cards... Roll

No Xenuria, you didnt just spend well over a grand on a tesla, to play EVE on.
So I would guess you're trolling.

Or. I am just crazy and rich enough to do it. I will take screen shots later.

Seriously... why would you use a card that's purely designed to crunch numbers, i.e. CUDA based applications, to play a game? It's not designed for that...

Yep... no support for that card. Get a graphics card that can play games dude. That doesn't mean a Quadro... it's not designed for games either, it's designed for 3d modeling.

Seriously... a Tesla??? ... wow... either a guy with way too much money and no idea about PC building, or a troll. Yay Trolls!!!

Well I dont know what youre expecting Xenuria, it will have the gaming performance of single nvidia 570, maybe less.

Keep in mind I am a computer graphics major and I have a degree in the former.
With this new card I can render entire scenes of high detail models and textures in a few mins rather then a few hrs.
It, runs fine with several eve clients on max settings.

That is not the problem, if you compare the tesla with the current high end gamming cards you will find the only disadvantage the tesla has is it can't do tesslasation or 3D. Other then that it runs great for New vegas and second life.

Just when I use CQ or the character designer I get strange graphical bugs. I will take some screenshots later today and show you what I mean.

I was gonna mention IRAY and VRAY as an intended use for them, the 6 gig of VRAM being the most important part of the specs. 1 or 2 gig cards just arnt big enough to render anything that useful.
You have almost zero chance that they will fix any game problems in ther drivers, I ve heard of people having problems with 3d max and they sent them a beta driver to try like hours later. but they would wouldnt they, the corporate level service is why ther so expensive.
I havent done it for ages and you might not want to do it anyway, but thers normally a way of changing the device string in driver installer, you could try forcing the gaming driver on to it (google it) people normally do it the other way, like 580 to quadro driver.
Im a bit rusty with the Nvidia stuff, when I first read your thread, I laughed cause the last TESLA I saw had no video output at all.
Anyway good luck LOL.

ROFL, what? This is a massively parallel card... you'll be faster at rendering massive-scale scenes, sure, but for games you'll just be bottlenecked by your CPU/RAM. And the clock speeds aren't that high, hence the comparison to a 570. It is just a 500 series (possibly 400... not sure) with more processors and more VRAM after all.

You may be a Computer Graphics major, but I'm a Computer Science major, and you're talking crap. Every frame you render, the meshes are calculated by the CPU before being passed to the GPU, where they are filled with textures and the shading passes are applied. But of course, being a Computer Graphics major, you'd know that .

My CPU won't be bottle necked when I upgrade it.... To a Cluster level model to match my Military MotherBoard.
With a kernel patched windows client I can Use 128gb of RAM so that won't be bottle necked.

I did not buy this card for games, I have a 590 for that, I bought this card to be able to render things, record video from games and run several game clients at once so I can run more then 50 eve clients at once without lagging.

Stay tuned for pictures. It is very possible that the graphical errors I am experiencing are not due to the card but to the drivers I am useing for it.

http://i.imgur.com/tezB2.jpg - Normal No problems (this is BEFORE you try and change any clothing)

I just tried logging in and out with my regular video card which is a 295 and I had the same problem. So I think this is not an issue with my choice in video card. I think it is an issue with the game itself.

I had issues like this when incarna was still on the test servers.

Well Im back to thinking this was a troll, its the FRAPS FPS counter in the bottom right of the pics showing 28 and 30 respectively, thats done it.

Re-Read what I said.

I said I used my default video card which is a 295... To prove that the graphical issues are not related to the card itself but to the driver.

If you don't read my posts carefully then you will miss what I am trying to say.

Also in hindsight I prolly should set up eve to cap my FPS at 30 so that I am not uses extra memory and video card resources on a client then I need too. That way I should be able to run even more clients.

You did make a good point however.. I should set up my other card and to that effect the eve client to only allow it to use enough Video RAM and Resources to reach 30 fps and no more. That way I will have way more unallocated resources for which to use on other game clients.

Anyway who here knows how to fix the graphical issues listed above?

You obviously don't know much about GPUs if you thought a Tesla would work well for playing MMO's.

Oh and first you said you have a 590, then a 295. Which is it?

Besides the fact that he's modified his Eve client and the girl has some TATAS. That's a violation of the EULA afaik.

That may be the reason your ****'s all f'd up looking!

I have both in SLI.

Look... We already established that the Card I have or don't have is NOT relevant.

What is important is that across all cards I experience this glitching...

It's ruining the RP element of the game for me.

Modding the INI files to clamp FPS at 30 /=/ modding THE GAME client.

You didn't just mod the INI guy. Your girl has no bra/bikini on. That means you've edited the textures in the game. Hence your stuff is all messed up looking. THAT... is a violation of the EULA.

No... What I am experiencing is a glitch a rather common one if you bother to look at the old forums.
This happened on the Test Server too.

You would change your texture res from high to medium then change a shirt then change it to high again and bam barbie doll nudity. What you are seeing is NOT a modification of the client. It is a glitch the causes textures to fail to load or simply load improperly.

The same dame bugs have been happening since before incarna came out and they still haven't been completely fixed.

If I were you I would stop trolling and actually READ FIRST, Then Post.

Look nobody is trying to deny that I am a huge troll. However I often do post in a serious tone and with legitimate concerns. However you try to spin this topic to make it look bad for me the fact still remains that I am a paying subscriber who purchases thousands of dollars in plex each year and I have a legitimate problem with my CQ.
