Dear CCP developers,

Why don't you release the in-house random NPC name generator as a part of the character creation?

The current randomizer only selects the last name from a handful of pre-generated options, leaving the first name for the player to invent.

I understand the positions that "players are the content!!" and "what?! lol-immersion in my space spreadsheets?!", but a random name generator would a) streamline and quicken the character creation process, b) cut the amount of gibberish and thinly veiled profanity in character names. You wouldn't believe the number of players that may decide that clicking two random buttons is so much easier than typing in "MissBooby Sluttypants".

Maybe a house name for each acct. so all 3 chars will have it,

It does suck when people give their characters stupid names. But seeing as CCP doesn't have an RP server as is single shard, there isn't much that can be done about it as far as I can see.

Unfortunately that only really works if all your characters are the same race and bloodline.

It would be nice if you could associate your characters (optionally) into...I don't know...an Underworld Consortium or something? People could use locator agents to discover which characters are associated with which, the tradeoff being you could use contracts between same-account characters more easily (no fee? No slot use?) or something similar.
Naturally you'd be able to name the association if you chose to create it.


...Wow, that went way off-topic. But I say the main purpose of this would be RP, so...yeah.
