How about the part where you can't respec SP in real life. Minor detail.

You were arguing about money causing an imbalance. Stay on target.

No I wasn't. I was arguing about selfish players who want to ruin the game. You were arguing that you can pay God $10m for a DNA change, which is absurd.

oh the irony of that reply.

if i'm so wrong, perhaps you would like to point out where i've gone so horribly wrong. i do like it when people tell me i'm wrong and fail to offer any evidence of such a claim.

I don't see any real issue with allowing remaps for PLEX but I do see some real issues for not allowing skill point reallocation. Although I'm sure some people wouldn't want to hear that.

That's your opinion and you're welcome to it; in the same way I am welcome to mine. Ultimately it's pointless arguing in circles, CCP will either do it or not - it really doesn't matter what we think.

Of course you're welcome to your opinion. We're also entirely welcome to the opinion (which is also not unfounded) that your opinion is bad.
Where were you going with this pointless statement?

2 reasons.

1) WoW has "Levels" a "Level cap" and thusly FINITE AMOUNT OF SKILL POINT PER PLAYER. As in, you get to a point where you cannot gain any more skills and would be stuck with an unchanging characters for the rest of eternity

2) By the time you get to the point where you're wanting to Respec, you're doing instanced raids and battlegrounds. Playing locked off parts of the game that reset at the end and have no impact outside of the instance.

Stop being reasonable. This thread does not deserve it.

Also I'm not sure of the economics of it, but if goons for example are using their in game isk to purchase more PLEX for this, then it could have a detrimental effect on the PLEX market. IE prices would rocket for people who use it to fund their accounts. Your creating more demand but same amount of supply.

Except you can buy PLEX at any time for IRL cash from CCP. So it only becomes an issue for those gypsies too poor/tight to spend real money.

Try looking at skill point reallocation another way.

You have several accounts and you decide to make one character a trader that was a combat pilot for instance. Do you think it's fair that you could become a trader and be in direct competition with a trader that had trained to be one from the start of their career?

And your point?

That's right you don't have one as you cherry picked the parts of the quotes to suit your purpose.

PLEX for remap is a bit pointless, more economical to use the PLEX for 30 days and train slightly off remap. The only use of this would be remapping to "Int/Perc" to train nav skills whereas previously you'd have just done that on Int/Mem, and the like.

I also don't think SP on a single char really matters to anyone any more. SP is just a commodity with a known isk value and must be treated as such.

It's not pointless, but it is something I wouldn't do that often (probably no more than about 4 times a year including the one we get already).

So your PLEX usage would be at 133%.
If everyone increased by the same amount, that would actually have a huge effect on the PLEX economy.

If you don't want to effect PLEX prices you could buy something from an NPC with isk, it would just be an isk sink then.

ccp stated at fanfest they weren't that bothered about the price of plex. if i remember rightly they were only concerned with it rising rapidly, and that's why they got involved shortly after the FW changes.

not to mention this new dual training is pretty much a similar thing in terms of increasing plex consumption and ccp don't have a problem adding that.

I wonder what the gross profit is on 30 days of gametime at $17.50.

I'm just wondering how beneficial it is to CCP to drop their prices, introduce new PLEX sinks, and sell more PLEX, rather than sell less PLEX at the current price.

If the gross profit is some huge number, it would be very beneficial indeed. I think the gross is quite high on CCP's subscription sales and most of their costs are in overheads, tbh.

they can't drop it below current subscription prices anyway really, so i doubt the difference is enough to make people want to buy more plex than they currently do.
