Should two minor pirate factions become major?

I would like to see EOM, but in Gone Berserk they fly Amarr hulls and Blood Raiders already do that.
Basically new hulls would have to be designed to be unique like Sansha and Angels.

nuuuu the EoM paint jobs are sexy on the amarr ships, I think that is the main reason people want them!

if anything give the bhaalgorn a new model!

Reads like a decent foundation for a technical alliance with a Caldari MegaCorp.

Not sure if ships are OP at all, that stuff can all be tweaked to work properly.

not only are they exellent but they are purdy... the eom ships would be like a rokh and a abbadon had a baby...

the krusual ships are kitting versions of phoons cyclones and Breacher... (havent you allways wanted a pirate faction Breacher?)

The eve lore for Thukker could be that they were displeased with Angel faction after Jamil Sarum destroyed the eldar fleet so they teamed up with a deregulated caldari Major corporation to take over for protection of Great wild lands.

There should be Tukker pirate faction frig/crusier/battle ship

the role bonus for all 3 would be shield tanking

so:
37.5% bonus to effectivness of shield booster

then caldari bonus:
5% to rate of fire of missiles

then minmatar bonus:
5% to max speed per level

this would make them fast nible tanky ships spewing missiles (currently no pirate faction special for missiles and no guritas does not count)

then for EOM i would add a new null sec faction region separating gal/ammar space
the RP thing would be there is allot of gal's who think its the end of days and are joining the EOM on mass...

The role bonus for EOM ships would be hard hitting good tank long range rail ships using ammar ship hulls:

so role bonus would be:
50% increase to hybrid turret range

then: gal bonus:
5% to rate of fire for hybrid turrets

then ammar bonus:
4% to armor resistance per level

I like the idea for a Gallente/Amarr pirate faction. Obviously your numbers would need some tweaking but other than that it's a cool idea. Plus Black and dark blue Amarr ships = Cool

I think EOM is more like a Caldari/Amarr hybrid which is already taken by Sansha so the Gallente/Amarr version is fine.

Thukker is a a weird place as they have mission agents (in contrast to EoM) but no belt rats, plexes, ... (in contrast to major pirate factions).

The missing pirate faction combination and EoM. I remember that. Did something with them, too. Commencing plug.

Yeah, not my best ideas, but it's still more than what CCP has come up with for those in the last five years. "Nothing" is easy to beat.

There are all sorts of possibilities going on the basis that there are pirates, wayward factions, empire fleets and randoms that could all be developed further.

I was trying to come up with a list which gives progression to all players regardless of starting faction.
Has anyone with a brain done this already?

I'm not too hot on the finer details of the lore and could easily have missed stuff or got it wrong - but I do think that we should have more ships with bonuses from different race skills.

This certainly supports the OP's initial post about bringing two more factions into the game for us players.

Fleshing out existing factions with ships, modules and space is a good idea- but they should really finish the T1 (and hopefully T2) ship rebalancing first.

If they ever do get around to adding more 'content' focused on these groups, so more freaking space would be neat, EVE is starting to feel small.

I would not want to stop tiericide... Let that finish first...

I would prefer the upgraded pirate factions to be part of a pirate faction warfare expansion... With more 0.0 space like they did with the fw expansion when they added bpack rise.

Honestly I could see tiericide being finished by winter expansion... So how about summer 2014 expansion?

And since they aren't a pirate faction - in the same sense that Khanid aren't a pirate faction.
It's a bit weird I admit, that both ORE, SoE and Thukker Tribe have "pirate" 0.0 holdings, that doesn't make them pirates though.

If they began hunting the spacelanes, attacking innocent miners and setting up camps in empire space so capsuleers needed to scan for them and hunt them down, that would be another story.
So far, Thukker isn't a meaningful pirate faction the same way Khanid or ORE aren't.

I would like a Minmatar/Caldari faction, though - as long as it used projectiles!

with amarr getting more drone boats a gallente/amarr faction should make a lot more sense.

I don't care about other pirate factions being created to preserve some stupid and artificial sense of "faction balance". To hell with that. To hell with it, I say!

The only new pirate faction we have any use for is EoM. If we must preserve the stability, then we can talk about getting Sisters of Eve ships. I don't know what kind of ships SoE would fly.

+1 Obviously this is a rough idea and it needs fleshing out and tweaking, but I've been holding my breath for a missile pirate line (Guristas don't count!) and a rail shield pirate line since I started this game.

All races other than Caldari get a pirate line that specializes in at least one of their main weapon systems:
1) Guristas for Drones
2) Serpentis for Blasters (this can be argued to be 'rails' as well, but the ships are armor tanked and pigeon holed into blasters from their stats)
3) Sansha and Blood for Lasers (though Blood ships are mostly about the neuts,
4) Angels for Projectiles

This gives every race a pirate ship 'upgrade' for their weapon of choice, but if you specialize in Caldari weapons (Missiles/Rails) that option isn't available.

So yeah, it would be only fair to have at least one of either missile/shield or rail/shield pirate boat option.
