ok so i was in the shower cleaning myself, when suddenly this idea came to me. Missions/a new kind of pve where you must work closely with a dust squad to complete a mission. it would be impossible or very hard to complete said missions if one side isnt pulling their weight. it would be a single room mission (unless they can change locations through a dust shuttle or something) and the locations could be pirate stations or captured station. as well as normal objectives eg kill all enemies or save hostage etc i will only list the features that would be the interactions betwen dust soldiers and eve pilots. interactivity could include:

Dust player objectives/features
-sabotage defenses/tracking/speed/etc of certain enemy ships or installations (without the sabotages these specific npc "bosses"would be incredibly strong and near impossible to defeat)
effects after sabotage would be stuff like reduce repair rate, damage output, tracking, and resists

-Activate station defenses to assist the eve pilot

-(for defend missions) repair structures/get repair systems online

-hinder amount of enemies spawned on each wave

-activate assist modules that effect eve pilots ship

-deactivate/destroy certain defenses (for example station webs, target painters or even turrets) that are invincible for the eve pilot to shoot

Eve Online Pilot objectives/Features
-destroy incoming troop transport ships to prevent dust players being overwhelmed

-drop of key items/equipment to dust players in station/base/complex

-Hack certain functions of station (hacking minigame) to open up doors dust players cant (maybe optional secret rooms with extra stuff?)

-extract team after mission over

-Fire support (orbital but without the orbit part..)

and im sure ccp could come up with even more. of course both games would be fighting their own enemies as well as all of the above but the key point is communication should have to be paramount as both games side of the mission should be IMPOSSIBLE to complete without the aid of the other. also this should get a fair bit better isk/hour than l4s. perhaps 1mil/minute at optimal speed

to prevent people from simply inviting a heap of eve friends to avoid the need for a good dust team, perhaps a system similar to incursions which is dependant on how many people are in the site vs how much total isk is payed out could be used. or simply a unique gate pass could be issued at the start of each mission

PLEASE DO THIS!!!

The general concept of having pve content where Dust and EVE players have to interact in some way is interesting, and I'm sure CCP has already thought about it.

Make it idiot-proof and someone will make a better idiot.

I'm not really interested in interacting with Dust players. Leave them to their game and us to ours. Arrow

I would totally play some EVE + Dust versus Environment.

Assuming I could "fleet" a specific team of dust players.... random "matchmaking" no thank you.

As for players that would not like to do interact with the Dust side I have a simple solution. Don't.

I'm sure the devs completely agree.. isnt the "big thing" of dust is the interaction between the two? without that its a mediocre fps. surely u arent that ignorant. either way as above poster said simply dont touch the content if u dont like it.

I'd rather shoot them than help them to be honest. Would you let me? :3

Dust players could battle in various bunkers and such n those complexes... EVE players could destroy connecting junctions, structures which lack the mission objective, etc... or be a-holes and blow up the compartment the dusties are in.

It could work with something like "damsel in distress" where instead of just blowing up a big station, you bring in Dusties to rescue the damsel, dusties can stop the station from calling in reenforcements, and capsuleers can target specific parts of the structure to help the dusties (your advancing across that dome? you want a round through it to depresurize it and kill those defending soldiers that aren't in sealed suits? done!)

If we decide to get concorded while they are in our cargo for extraction, do they die too? >=3

Oh my goodness that would fix that mission from being a total snorefest to being kinda fun.

Save the drones!

If done right, it should be fun. I'm all for it.

BTW, does Dust have any PvE content? Another thing is if bunnies are interested in something like that...

I have seen random screenshots of what looks like man sized "rogue drones" so i feel like there will be a pve element implemented for sure. not rly confirmed tho
