On the multiple installs thing, what's the point? I already run Eve off an SSD with enough ram & vram not to lag on a single install. Different setups across multiple characters can get confusing fast.

Edit: I can already launch 5 windows fast using windows keyboard shortcuts.

Means he can get them all to launch on the appropriate monitors without having to adjust them each time he runs it. Also, I hear you get better performance with multiple clients rather than running the same one over and over.

I don't get what's so hard about the new launcher :

1) open launcher
2) select account
3) enter pass
4) press PLAY
5) switch user account
6) repeat as necessary

Now I might understand its a pain if you have 14 mining alts but for 2 or 3 ..

Although it's me being an idiot, I keep pressing play again instead of switch user, and logging my main off whilst trying to get my alt online. It's frustrating, but I'll get used to it. Generally, I don't see the problem with the new launcher. The issues I have had with it have been insignificant at worst.

Ok, Im must be missing something. I followed the instructions and nothing happens. I mean, once I close the launcher, what is suppose to happen?

Why would anyone use multiple copies of the client?

Because doing symlinks/NTFS jucntions is :efford:
Stupid windows commandline and all that.

Edit: If you run eve from the same installation, every client gets the same configuration. But i want allways one client with low grafic settings on the second monitor.

Use ISBoxer. No reason to write this yourself when its already done =P

Work smarter, not harder.

NTFS Junctions: 5 minutes of work
Copy & paste: 5 seconds of work + X minutes of wait time
ISBoxer: $50/yr + registration + payment foo

ahh ..

Once the launcher closes, it should be launching a client instance for each subfolder named EVE*. Each instance will be run with it's own configuration settings, and they will be remembered on every launch. If you already HAVE the instances running, it will not relaunch THAT instance (great for relaunching back to the full complement after closing one/some of your clients).

I'm not running multiple installs - I am simply using different paths to get to the same install multiple times - This is done because eve uses the launch path to store the client settings, so each different path used to the launch the game gets a different stored configuration to run with.

That is what I thought was going to happen. Unfortunately, it didn't. I am trying to open 7 accounts. Everything seems to run fine until I close the EVE launcher. Then nothing happens. I am running Windows 8 though. Any other suggestions?

Thanks for putting some work in to make life easier for your fellow players.

Personally I'm just fine using switch user until CCP takes the next step and integrates their own solution for multiboxers. After all, that's the main point of this first iteration of the launcher... to lay the groundwork for a smooth and secure way to handle various multibox/multi client configurations.

I would suggest editing the file, and removing the '@echo off' command, then running the file from the command prompt, and look at the results - though if you don't know what you are looking for, I'm not sure how much help it'll be.
