Go ahead and tell us more about it. I'd like to have some laughs reading those excuses.

Let's just seed everything on the market for 100 isk, like SiSi.

Then nobody will ever have to make any decisions about what they're willing to risk for any particular benefit, and everyone can PvP all the time.

Thing is that despite the simplicity of your assumption if you ever go around on sisi and despite everything being at 100isk you don't see more carebears playing over there than pvp fan boys.

So sorry to tell you this but your argument is null.

So tell me:

-if pods cost 0 after paying for whatever amount of it and whatever amount of them you loose

-if jump cloning is reduced to let's say 12h

What would be your next excuse to say people are afraid of pvp?

Because you know, if they were really that afraid of pvp and wanted everything for nothing they'd go play on sisi instead.

Also tell me:
-what about making boosting on grid only?
-what about make it so it's impossible to fit more than 2 T2 links per command ship/T3 Command?

How much risk averse are you?

You don't seem to grasp that some people are averse to PvP simply on account of because.

******* awesome. Can't wait for it to happen.

I can't make any sense of this. Are you saying the reason people avoid PvP is because the clones are too expensive and they don't want to lose implants, but if they really cared about clones and implants they would play on a test server?

Great, can't wait for T2 BCs to be useful in a fight.

idgaf?

Hm. Well I usually give myself a budget for fitting a ship if I expect to lose it and if I'm flying a ship I don't want to lose, I scout ahead so I guess I'm not that risk averse. I'm just cautious where I need to be.

So let them be, their money is as good as yours for CCP and on top of having as much right as you have of playing the game their way and not how you want them to.

Now instead of criticizing all the time risk averse players and automatically assume those are in high sec, what about find causes to effects and bring constructive solutions for the greater good of the game and all the community instead from your single point of view how the game should be played?

The problem is that's it not 'our' excuses for why they are afraid to PVP.

It's their excuses.

Every week we have one of these threads where some person starts BAWWWing about how clone costs or (especially) implants are the cause of them avoiding PVP, and if only the implants were gone, they would be able to do it.

Never do they mention or acknowledge the fact that if they have a set of implants to lose, they were the ones to install them.

They made that choice. The implants were not there to begin with. And now, after having chosen to install them, they blame the implants, instead of the choice that they made to install them.

They did it to themselves, and listening to them cry about it grows tiresome; people who cry about things like this will always find something to cry about. We don't need to invent excuses for them in order to please you; wait long enough, and they will produce the excuses on their own.

You're not less or more risk averse than anyone as you are saying: you're being cautious for YOUR vision of the game and how YOU want to play it.

The day you will realize you're not alone and there are actually thousands of different people playing the game, that they have their own vision of how the game should be played just as much as you, the day you will respect other players gaming style as much as you want them to respect yours, you'll make huge steps to have a decent and constructive discussion.

Meanwhile this is just another boring thread about high sec, risk averse, meaning of losses thread that will have no other end than the usual one where the same guys keep discussing in between them with their alts.
Other players that might actually have something constructive to add to the discussion are systematically tired of being insulted for pixels by stupids unable to see far than their nose or think the universe orbits around their arrogance.

Oh. Now you've put like that, I can see that whining on the forum about the costs of clones and implants is a legitimate playstyle. I'll respect people who whine about these things from now on and I apologise if I hurt your feelings.

What would be your next excuse to say people are afraid of pvp?

- ship/modules are too expensive
- ship/modules are too far away
- there is no needed ship/module/ammo on the station i'm in
- i only have 2-3 hours a day to play so i CANNOT wait 12 hours for clone

need more?

lets also turn all spaceships into ponies, instead of shooting lethal ammo lets shoot soap bubbles so your pony won't die.

They allready changed so much in this game that everything is cheap as **** and still people don't pvp if they don't want to. Has nothing to do with costs just with what people want to do.

Why don't we just remove PvP from this game and make it like space minecraft.

Seems like most of the PVP chest thumpers are basing their arguments on a slippery slope fallacy.

Having good pvp is like eating a delicious omelette; how can you eat a delicious omelette without scrambling some eggs?

I think if the cost of implants was somehow mitigated, people for the most part wouldn't pvp more, as the risk-averse wouldn't become any less risk-averse. However, the equation would shift a few percentage points in favor of more pvp happening, mostly due to the convenience factor. I want to think that more bears would venture out of their shells and try some of this pvp stuff they hear everyone talking about, but after so many years of experience in dealing with their type, I really don't think it would turn out to be that way.

These people wouldn't pvp even if it was free, or actually gave them a net benefit even if they lost. They play on pve servers in other MMOs, and stay away from competitive experiences like fps games and such. They're in EVE purely incidentally, and don't usually stay for long. I've known these types, even personally, and I know how they think. Yes, it's that bad.

Though surprisingly, a lot of them aren't that averse to getting into fights in real life...

I would definetly PVP more if I dont have to fck around with jumpclones so my +5-s could be safe.....

You allready can have 4 of those .... how many clones would be enough ? 10 , 50 , 100 ?

Another five clones would be pretty nice, actually. We've had a lot of new implants added in the past few years, and it would be nice to have more choices.

Minecraft can have some pretty ******* intense pvp.

I wrote some true EVE stories! And no, they're not of the generic "my 0.0 alliance had lots of 0.0 fleets and took a lot of 0.0 space" sort. Check them out here:
