No podding, more PvP

If implants were made to expire instead of being destroyed to fuel the economy, and if podding did not occur, would people PvP more? Especially considering one of the easiest ways to get implants is through FW?

Sometimes the cost of the ship is secondary to the cost of implants. If the risk of losing implants in combat went away my guess is more people would participate.

No, the risk-averse would simply find another reason to stay docked.

Or let's just remove all implants from the game? Cool

Nope, they'd just find another excuse not to undock.

Or add temporary boosters for the hardwire slots that do the same or similar, so a pod loss quite as expensive but you need to stay supplied (from low-sec/pirate sources, no less).

No just remove it completely .That way it won't bother anyone who wants to pvp right?

Keeping one clone with a cheap impsset or none at all is such a small sacrifice. If even that is too much of an effort then completely remove that precious bonus of yours so you don't have to ''decide'' if you should risk it.

Btw with ''yours'' i do not mean you abrazzar but anyone who uses implants as an excuse why they can't pvp.

Let's remove learning implants from the game.

@ op

I think it would mean more people would PvP or at least be willing to experiment with it, but there are people that won't PvP no matter what change you do.

Note: PvP that I refer to is combat PvP, not those that like to play Monopoly.

Risk is part of the fun in this game. You should not play EVE if you don't like risk.

If you cannot afford to lose those implants, do not use them.

Remove standings and insurance.

If you remove implants from the game, it would make killing pods pointless.

I'm fine with that. They do not add anything useful to the game really.

Not at all, there's still combat implants and clone costs (even if they are reduced in cost). Also means they could end up outside of the combat area.

Don't mind that as long as they're not learning implants.

They should get rid of the LP stores too and make those items player made, difference with those would be you need a high corp standing with the corp to be able to make their products.

You should get BPCs from 'reverse engineering' player corpses. What you can get out of it would depend on the attached killmail.

Outside of null and the occasional SBing camps in Low, it's quite difficult to lose a pod. So if people are too worried about losing a pod they will find some other excuse not to pvp.

But like Abrazzar posted, adding in learning boosters would be best to mitigate cost due to it being a consumable. So lower short term cost, higher long term cost(for people who don't Pvp).

I prefer ideas which encourage PvP to ideas which cater for the excuses of those who don't wish to PvP.
