..not sure if this was asked before, but out of curiosity.. why Brutix?

Amarr hulls:
T2: Prophecy
Navy: Harbinger

Caldari hulls:
T2: Ferox
Navy: Drake

Minmatar hulls:
T2: Cyclone
Navy: Hurricane

Gallente hulls:
T2: Brutix
Navy: Brutix

..tho I rarely fly Gallente, it would have been cool to see a Navy Myrm.
Any reason why the Brutix was used compared with the other races?

-Why choosing the Brutix instead of the Myrmidon as a Navy hull?-

Internal discussion resulted in favor of the Brutix since we felt it represented the Gallente combat doctrine more accurately with close range hybrids. A Myrmidon Navy Issue could also have been problematic to balance without overstepping on the Dominix, Vexor Navy Issue or even turret ships.

It's also worthwhile to point out that there was a fair amount of howling and gnashing of teeth from certain elements of the playerbase during T1 Battlecruiser Tiericide. Most notable were the people who didn't want the Hurricane changed at all and the people who felt that the active rep bonus on the Brutix was ridiculous and needed to go.

The Navy Battlecruisers, interestingly enough, arrived with bonuses and stats strangely similar to what people were howling for and demanding....

Well those people were basically howling and demanding for their favourite ship to be made a little (and often times more than a little) OP, which is conveniently the whole point of Navy ships.
