Greetings Fellow Empyreans!

Since we have moved over to new forums since I completed this series, I thought I'd re-post it here so that new and would-be EVE players can view them if they so desire:

Raise The Flag I: Unitl All Are Free (The Gallente Federation)
Raise The Flag II: Amarr Victor (The Amarr Empire)
Raise The Flag III: Fear The Tribes (The Minmatar Republic)
Raise The Flag IV: Glory To The State (The Caldari State)

NOTE: This series was almost purely an editing project, so all video and audio sources are listed within the video descriptions.

This series was graciously highlighted by CCP back in one of their "Creative Player" dev blogs

Motivation: When CCP released new faction intro videos with the Apocrypha expansion, I thought it was a great idea. However, while I found the "feel" of the videos was appropriate, I thought they were also rather brief and uninformative in as much as helping a new player choose which faction would best suit them. Therefore, I decided there was enough official and fan-created cinematic material to craft "supplementary" intro videos for each playable faction. The idea was to provide some idea of the following to a new player:

1) What is the overall look and sociopolitical philosophy of each faction?
2) What are their broad goals?
3) How do their ships conduct combat (i.e., weapon types)?
4) What type of music might best summarize them?

Did I succeed at these aims? I'll let you judge that. :-)

Will I do more? Well, I'd love to do some for the pirate factions, as some have suggested to me. However, I will need to wait until I can get access to enough cinematic material featuring them (like the recent Sansha videos). Hopefully there will be such an opportunity in the future. :-)

Very nice! You have accurately (IMHO) captured the look, feel and ideology of each of the major factions.

I thought the vid for the Amarr was particularly well done (forgive me for being biaised). Although I'd have chosen a track from the Angels and Demons movie, something like this.

Please keep it up! I look forward to seeing something mechanical and eerie for the Sanshas :D

The editing of these were fine, but whenever people do these sorts of videos, the original source material is the problem; not the solution.

Everything you've used has its own editing, music and tonality - this means your efforts are an example of 'not as as good as the sum of its parts'.

Don't get me wrong, you can edit, but I would be much more interested to see something whereby you took an original concept and saw it through from beginning to end.

This, I feel, is where we would see something spectacular - instead of being an example of eclecticism gone wrong.

No worries, my friend, that's a fair critique. :)
