Kate, no. it would still yield pixellation at the edges that I have to remove after upscaling--it might even make edges more harsh. while trimming the edges myself I get to define them.

and it only takes a couple minutes per figure to trim things as step 0.01 Lol

speaking of, I can't think of any uses for the green screen other than the mac video chat background replacement. .. do players use green screen for other things? I always thought green screen was an odd feature

It actually speeds up slower PC's in the Character Creator. like instead of 4 fps with the normal background i sit at 10. Its because that normal background is animated, and thus... graphics processing.

It was added by a player request made to CCP Karkur. The idea was to ease up background removal for photoshopping.

I still find it odd that such a niche purpose received a game function such as that.

even with a green background... wand tool is bad. no matter the sensitivity of the edge detection settings, and even with anti-aliasing, it is best done manually.

Definitly yes. I tried to remove background with green screen too some times now and there's always green dye left in the hair...Lol
So you still are forced to sit down and fix that manually^^
