i have been scaning for an exit for the past two days and could not find.

i am new to scaning but i understand the core of it.
the problem is that every time i find something i get closer and closer but at a certin point he signal just gets lost insted of get stronger. was close yesterday but i could only get to 60 % signal, m scaning wasat the minimum at 0.50 and i ot the closer that i could but still no dice...

can anyone help with an advise ?

Thanks.

Make sure you have these skills, (listed below), trained up to, imo, at least lvl 3. If you have them already, you might need to stick around until you train them even more or just SD

Astrometric Pinpointing — Greater accuracy in hunting down targets found through scanning. Reduces maximum scan deviation by 10% per level.
Astrometric Rangefinding — Skill for the advanced operation of long range scanners. 10% increase to scan probe strength per level

good luck

Open your scanner, go under System Scanner tab.

Right click on the four lines next to Scan Result Filter.

Select edit current filter.

Left click on Cosmic Signature.

Make sure all categories are selected with an "x"

you saying that you were at the minimum 0.50 leads me to believe you're using combat probes. while this is do-able, I don't recommend looking for anoms with combat probes unless you have pretty solid scanning skills.

It sounds to me like you're just running into a deviation issue. It happens. With less than stellar scanning skills, and using combat probes, that little red dot that shows up can be "off" a bit from where the sig really is. If you get a sig at 1 AU and then slim it down to 0.5 AU, center it on the sig and scan again and get bupkiss then that's probably what's happening.

Again, I'd first recommend switching to core probes and secondly, if you lose it at 0.5 AU try just shifting your probes around slightly. Up a bit, or down a bit, or left a bit or right a bit, whatever. The sig is there...

Good luck and hope you find your way out!

Up your scanning skills (all 4 of them).

If you don't have them injected, SD your pod out and inject them. I had the same trouble the very first day I tried scanning.

Although I immediately thought "oh, Nathan has left his corp and he has a new portrait", I cannot quite remember how exactly the old portrait looked like. I think I actually like the new one better.

I did not actually realize my portrait was the topic of so much conversation. I feel touched. Or stalked. Not sure which yet.

For comparison, here is my previous portrait.

For additional comparison, here is what I actually look like in real life. Trying to keep my avatar reasonably similar, you see. Too bad the NeX store doesn't sport any decent reading glasses.

(Should we start a new thread about my avatar?)
