I am getting the same error. Since the update this week the launcher gives me an error. Module Not Found. LoadLibrary(pythondll) failed. When I click ok I get a second popup c:\users\me\Temp\*****.tmp\PYTHON27.dll.

I tried running winetricks python and downloading and installing the current version of python 2.72 however I am still getting the same error.

And since yesterday when the client tried to apply an update I get this error halfway through the update which fails and restarts in an endless loop.

Any suggestions would be appreciated.

I am running OpenSUSE 12.3 x86(32 Bit) and the current version of wine.

I hate to say it but the python error might have been my fault. After the launcher issue earlier in the week I tried to resolve it unsuccessfully by changing the defaults on MSVCR80, 90, 100 as I found in a post elsewhere.

Anyways I uninstalled EVE and tried to reinstall it but immediately received the python error. It was then that I remembered the above changes and removed them. After doing that Eve installed and I am no longer getting the python error.

However now the client seems to be hanging. When I select my character and try and enter the game it loaded about 2/3 of the way then stoped. I let it sit there for several minutes and it didn't move.

Trying it again now. its been 4-5 minutes without any change.

The new launcher does not give a login option so I skipped the launcher and ran exefile.exe and it started and prompted me to accept the license agreement again. Once i did that it started up.

I was confused at first because I could log in with a trial account but when I tried to log in with a normal account it kept hanging. I finally realized that the trial account was in space and my account was in a station. When I disabled station view it started up.

I was getting "module not found" with wine 1.4.X -- Using the latest version of wine (1.5.30?) in their ubuntu PPA it's all been fine though:

I think the python.27.dll error is because the EVE installer and patcher needs vcrun2008.

I had this and found the wine version resolved it.

I was using playonlinux to install. POL automatically uses wine version 1.5.26 which resulted in this python27.dll error stopping the download. If I switch the version of wine to 1.5.29 the installer worked just fine. Once installed you can change the wine version to what you prefer.

Another option for this was I bypassed POL completely and downloaded from the eve website and installed than moved it all to the POL bottle made for eve.

So I would try a wine update to 1.5.29. The game runs quite well on it and no installer issues.

That saud right now I'm running it on 1.5.26 with only d3d11 disabled and it works just fine.
