Bonuses to torps, rails and blasters but not cruise missiles? Why do you hate cruise missiles CCP? Sad

Cruise missiles need a little more work than just an RoF bonus, I think...

Beauty as they say, is in the eye of the beholder. I think it is classic EvE ship and very nice, I think they all work great.

The last thing your Orca pilot sees: A giant, torp-spitting tuning fork.

Yes, I think I'll focus on this ship and the Tornado come the expansion. The others will be nice, but I have my personal preferences.

This is my signature. There are many others like it, but this one is mine.

Someday, this signature may save my life.

I decided to wait several hours before posting. That way nothing I wrote would be a knee jerk post:

1 - I'm glad to see a Caldari get a multi weapons platform that can be fitted with either launchers or hybrids (maybe both)

2 - I'm really excited at shooting things in the face with T2 Torps!

3 - Like many Caldari ships (excluding the Scorpion) I'm sure the utilitarian design will grow on all of us - loved more for what it can do, and less about how pretty it looks.

4 - I'm just wondering if this is still the race that designed the Scorpion?

5 - Only a cool (limited) transformation animation of some kind would wipe away an pangs of feeling underwhelmed or disappointed.

6 - This thing is DYING to be given a Japanese Anime style MAIN CANNON!!!1111!!!!1 ... Oh yes!

7 - Regardless of the above, I am proud of CCP for sticking to the theme of player designed ships - it will encourage others to step forward with inventive creations that CCP could draw from later.

8 - Did I mention my wonder if this ship is from the same race that designed the Scorpion?

In the end if her beauty is in her stats, then just add beer goggles and I'm sure she'll do Pirate

The Naga eh?

Can anyone at CCP enlighten me why they've stepped away from the avian names for Caldari? Especially with Naga being deity-like, surely that would have been a better fit with Gallente?

Because a Naga isn't a god but a legendary serpent from Hindu legends also means 'snake' in hindi and several other local languages.

And my point about it not being avian is nullified how?

Looks kinda like a bifurcated rokh ... I fully intend on flying ALL 4 new ships ... assuming they dont cost 50x their mats.

I am dissapointed that the caldari BC is not the 2nd place ship from the contest but i like the choice.

Now, please , just please don't mix up the slots like : 3 turrets and 4 missiles. Please let there be the choice of having a full rack of missiles or turrets. We all know that mixing them is a bad choice.

Otherwise i am glad I renewed my subscription.

Hey CCP while you're at it with this ship why not re-balance the Tech II Target Painter so its better than the PWNAGE?

I know it's still WIP, but the removal of explosion velocity/radius bonus on torps is a big letdown.

Why do we even want large hybrid optimal ranged bonus on Naga, when Rokh already has that and nobody uses it?

Either focus on being a complete missile boat or hybrid turret boat, not a poor mixture of both.

I'm not sure if i am completely missing the point with the new tier 3 ships, i've tried the Naga on sisi. And its horrible, it looks great, but we are talking about ship bonuses here. Torp's are absolute fail, not enough range, both as sniper and as a torp boat it preforms horribily. The only ships that shine here are the talos, and the tornado, and even the Oracle is a pure powerhouse, shooting with pulse lasers at over 80km. The other tier 3 are perfect for kiting or gank up close. Not so much the Naga because it wont hit much. Would work as a support ship, but the others can work perfect solo and thats the whole issue here. Why fly a naga if you can fly a drake because of the range? Might aswell let it have a cruise bonus instead. I'd love to see 25m3 drone bays on all of them.

Anyways, great job, all of the ships look great so far. And the new nebula's too.

Honestly I think any hybrid optimal range bonus anywhere is misguided. Sure it's great for rails but no other race is restricted to only using the long range variant of their guns. Turning optimal range bonuses into optimal+falloff bonus on hybrid ships would make blasters on caldari gunboats actually have some unique advantages next to gallente. All that said I think this will still be a fun gunboat to run around in, perhaps a first for Caldari.
