Hi,

I've been staring at a grayed out "play" button, while the launcher sits and does nothing at all, saying "downloading launcher update" at the bottom, over a big gray bar that never does anything, or fills up.

This is what i've been looking at for 2 days. Plz help, CCP!

It's a known problem.

Repair tool won't even run out of my sisi folder, will try the other download. thanks

Downloaded the file from the other thread, didn't work. Launcher wouldnt even run, process was going in the background but nothing was happening at all.

Tried running the repair tool in safemode... and I'm back to the perma-gray play button, and a launcher that won't update.

Did you do everything mentioned in that thread?

I had to run the file that was linked, point it to the Sisi folder (it chooses TQ by default) then when the launcher showed 'updating', close the launcher (and then manually close the Launcher.exe process from Task Manager).

Once that was done, I had to use the Sisi shortcut to start the launcher whereupon the client was updated.

After those steps, it should work (or at least it did for me and a few other people).

This is a big time fk up ccp... Fix this we shouldnt need to use workaaround, besides they only halfway work. I was able to get one account going but it wouldnt let me open the one for my alt. if your goal is making it so you can only run one toon at a time the GJ!!!! If this is your goal let it be known and i will cancel my other accounts!!
If you cant fix it revert back to the old launcher till you can and test it on sisi before it goes live on tq and screws everything up. Just my humble opinion...

After performing the steps I outlined in my previous post, I am able to log in with all four of my accounts simultaneously without any issues. Since you are able to log in with one account but not multiple, I would surmise the issue you are having is at your end.

Are you trying to run the multiple clients from a single install/instance or are you using the symlink method? Are you getting any errors?

Everyone should calm down a bit and remember this is the test server, finding and resolving these issues are exactly the reason for using it in the first place. ;)

edit: After logging another character in simultaneously, I had an in-game notification come up saying 'You already have a character selected' or somesuch. It didn't affect anything, just popped up and disappeared. Curiouser and curiouser...

I've been having a similar problem, my launcher sits and says it's updating the launcher however makes no progress to do so.

Currently trying the backdoor method. Will keep posted
