Am I right in assuming it would be best spent on skills which are off your current neural remap?

For example, I'm on a gunnery remap at the mo with all my movable attribute points in Perception and Willpower.

So if I spent the skills on maybe navigation skills which use other attributes, it would have taken longer to train?

Is that sound logic, cos now I'm confusing myself!

Edit: Actually now I read it back I'm thinking the best strategy is to spend them on skills I'm never likely to do a remap specifically for?

Oh yea, and the launcher still wont work after closing it! Freezes on startup and I have to reboot the pc to get it up (The launcher that is ;)), so can I have another 50k CCP?

It's the least you can do!

Only if you learn the whole skill and you really need it. There's no point doing it for partial skill training.

i kinda lost track of the date so i'm a bit behind on my training for the destroyer/bc change, so i dumped my SP there. it'll turn 50k in to 200k.

although on my characters that already have those skills trained, i'll save them for a rainy day. they don't expire as far as i'm aware so there's no point needlessly distributing them.

Divide 50,000 by the number of skills you have, then put that number into each of your skills.

I put ~30,000 in a level 2 skill to get it to 3 and then spent the rest in what I was already training.

Finished off Combat Drone Op III, which I had left incomplete when I switched training to perception/willpower in order to do BC and destroyers in preparation for the upcoming changes.

Also trained these:

Amarr Drone Spec II
Caldari Drone Spec II
Gallente Drone Spec II

Amarr Offensive Systems III
Gallente Offensive Systems III
Minmatar Offensive Systems III

Armor Rigging II
Repair Systems II

Mining Frigate II (probably never use it, just looks better on the sheet with 2 compared with 1)

The remaining 378 sp went into the skill I'm currently training, which is Small Auto cannon Spec IV

The reality is that 50K sp is not really that much in terms of the skill tree (although a nice gift from CCP) so I wouldn't worry too much where you use them.

As you can see I just spread them about on things that I'll use, except of course for the mining frigate.

Can I give them back so they can train Launcher Coding 5?

The first 50k has you confused enough already, it would be cruel to inflict more stress on you.

I don't judge people by their race, religion, color, size, age, gender, or ethnicity. I judge them by their grammar, spelling, syntax, punctuation, clarity of expression, and logical consistency.

Personally, I'd use it to train skills, but if you can find another way to spend it, then more power to you.

De'Veldrin's Corollary (to Malcanis' Law): Any idea that seeks to limit the ability of a large nullsec bloc to do something in the name of allowing more small groups into sov null will inevitably make it that much harder for small groups to enter sov null.

It's 50k points which equal out to be about a days training.

Using it at all is beneficial as it makes you gain a day of training.

Simplest thing is just to add it to the skill you're currently training.

Don't over-think this Lol

the best way for me is to modify my partially trained skills so I have 5 seconds on each one ....

Actually, this is one of the least efficient ways to spend it. OP had it right when he said he should spend it on things he's never going to remap for (leadership/navigation skills would be a good example).

Unless you are on a particular attribute plan, then you can use the free SP for things you want to train in other areas without losing sp/hour.

Also this free SP must be enough for some very lucky individuals to reach BC 5 just in time haha.

Well, yes, but most normal people just want that skill as quickly as possible.
