Dread Pirate Scarlet, silent fix?

I had quite a break from doing missions so it migh have slipped my attention. Even then, though, I didn't notice it being mentioned in any recen patch notes.

The thing is, a few months ago if you were running this mission, any other person warping to the room or warping to the room again had a chance of triggering another 'bonus' spawn. Probably it was a glitch, unpleasant for unsuspecting cleaner but otherwise quite enjoyable. I mean, more shooting, more bounties, more loot and salvage. The ticks tended to be nice but because of randomness of those spawns and general randomness of the mission selection I don't think it was game breaking.

Now it seems to be gone. I've run this mission couple of times recently and despite multiple attempts I couldn't trigger the spawn. Has it been fixed or I was just unlucky?

P.S. INB4 "bear's tears", I'm not crying after those rewards, however nice they were. It's just that twist made this mission quite interesting, as missions go. Now it's... almost typical L4.

Welcome to July 2012 Smile
Yes notification for that fix are missing from Inferno patchnotes, but you can think of it like "exploit has been fixed making the world a better place for all".

Oh, I'm almost sure this 'exploit'(*) still worked last Autumn but it may be my memory playing tricks on me. Anyway, thanks for info.

(*) Though for reasons I stated in OP, I'd prefer to call it "undocumented feature". ;)

Yeah, some people said at that time that the 'exploit' had been fixed but I noticed no difference at all.

There used to be a spawn that triggered when you activated the first gate a second time - thats gone.... and I sorta remember there used to be a second spawn in the first pocket thats gone now, but not 100% sure that existed or not =)

The old way is more ISK overall, the new way is much more ISK/hour.

The only reason you should warp out of a mission is if real life invades you IMHO.

The last time it worked, there was a chance of second spawn in every pocket and the trigger seemed to be based on warping to it but the spawns in initial pocket were always delayed. Your perception of activating the gate being the trigger may have come from correlation of this dealy and time to reach the gate.

As I mentioned in OP, the 'broken' mission was less boring.

Where said I that I was warping out and in before clearing the pocket? ;)

You didn't. Warping out takes time and therefore reduces efficiency. I hate it and think it blows. Hence IMHO.

Unless they make missions dynamic, they will always be boring.

I don't understand... why warp out?

Before they fixed the bug you could warp out , and when you came back there would be a new spawn/wave.

You could also sit there and wait on the first room, but that was even slower.

Cipher, it actually was simpler. Since the pockets (still) are not a deadspace, you could always bookmark and warp between them. So when bonus spawn occured you didn't waste more time than when you use gates in any other mission.

I usually pop her in the third room and collect the implant she drops. Easy money.

I see what you mean. What I meant was that killing scarlet ASAP and collecting the bounty and loot was the most money per hour. I still like to farm the whole thing as the final room is good for reprocessing.

Cipher, I used to do the warp out/in routine too before it was fixed. It was truly massive isk. I found it out quite by accident though, after the mission was green I warped in my noc and it got omfgwtfbbqpwnd by 1.2 mil bounty rats. I wish I hadn't petitioned the loss like a noob though. Fun times lol.

Yeah, I found it precisely the same way. Only I was luckier to hammer the GTFO button the moment I saw red crosses, so I ended taking hits at armor while leaving the pocket. :)

1 shot her (maybe 1 shot isnt necessary, but you need to kill her very fast) or point her.

I have not tried pointing but you need good alpha. In the first room she leaves immediately when attacked so you have exactly one shot. In the second room you have time for a couple of shots, but not too many.

Arties and tachyons work every time, railguns are erratic. In theory blasters should be fine too but there's time to reach the gate and Anire's departure is timed.

Missiles and drones seem to be out of the question, because unless I'm mistaken, she flees when attack command is given, not when shot lands. But if anyone popped her in 1st or 2nd room using cruises or torps then I'd be happy to know.

BTW, she drops implant only when popped in the 2nd room.

What kind of implants did she drop?

She drops some charisma implant worth 8-9m.
Tachyons work 100% and mjolnir fury cruises work 100% as both just insta her. Im not sure about acs/drones/rails.
