interface keystrokes not responding/keys only work in text boxes

i recently got a new pc and downloaded eve to see how awesome it would play on this and right off the bat at the log in screens enter is unresponsive so i have to click my way through the log in menus. once in game the only time keys are responding are in chat boxes only. esc does nothing, f keys and other module/combat/flight commands dont respond, etc. the only way i can close the game is through the task manager. i have already reinstalled a bunch of times, ran the eve repair, cleared setting and cache. other keyboards have the same issue with eve ONLY, keyboards work normal in battlefield, world of tanks, and all the other applications i use. the only thing tahts running at the time is chrome as usual to play pandora and norton since it doesnt interfere with online gaming

issue resolved hopefully ran eve as administrator and interface binds were working again

well for some reason the game kept starting up in safe mode, but when i ran as administrator it was working as intended. now after the patch the administrator work around isnt working anymore. ccp do you just want me to stop playing this game again?

I recently installed a new graphics card, and I am having this same issue. I thought it was EVE related at first but I'm having similar issues using TeamSpeak 3, I can use the menu buttons initially and then after connecting to a server I am unable to move the teamspeak window/use most of the buttons. Not sure if there was something with the changing of an ATI card to an nVidia card that broke my system.

In EVE, I am unable to use ESCAPE to bring up the settings window - alas I cannot change any settings (was kinda hoping to bump them up seeing as I have a better graphics card), and I normally run 2/3 clients, with my primary toon running fixed window 1920x1080 on my left monitor, and the second/third toons running 1200x900 windows on my second monitor. But seeing as I can't access the settings menu I am stuck to using one client at a time, or having to continuously alt tab between fixed windows that are on the same monitor.

As far as I can tell NONE of the keyboard shortcuts are working, I can't open skill queue, fitting window, settings menu, can't even use SPACE to focus on the last chat box used. I can still use chat boxes normally except for being unable to "SPACE" them.

Oops just posted another topic about the same issue, I overlooked this one. But to be honest it's an issue that has to be addressed.
I'll keep you updated if I find anything helpful.
