New launcher: direct login via shortcut now possible?

Since the new launcher has the ability to log in, it means it can pass on your login credentials to the client somehow. Does that mean that the main EVE binary has command line switches for specifying the user name and password?

If that were so, I could create shortcuts for each of my characters and launch the client directly.

On second thought, that sounds entirely too easy... it does not fit the usual level of EVE complexity :|

Nevermind, I found out that the launcher gives the client an authentication token, but that token changes all the time.

Now if there was a way to give the launcher the username and password to get the authentication token Lol

If it does, it doesn't use it. I've made a video on how you can bypass the launcher since a lot of people haven't figured this one out, and a lot of you hates the new launcher.

All your updates will still take you to the launcher during and after the update.

Yup, pinning the launched game window to the taskbar actually creates a shortcut to the main EXEFile.exe binary, which bypasses the launcher. It's one of the easiest ways to do it.

The only trouble with this is it does NOT work for multibox, as it takes the pinned program and turns it into the 'running' version. Might work if you pinned it once for every client you want open, but thats alot of extra crap on the taskbar if you ask me.

And CCP will likely disable this shortly, as it bypasses their most holy launcher.

I'm not sure if you're talking about a multibox software or having more than 1 window open. To bring more than 1 window open just right click on the thing and select exe. (Right above the pin/unpin icon)

btw idk if that method will work on all versions of windows.
