Eve Launcher Issue

Today i tried logging in and the launcher had an update. Following this update i could not get the launcher to eve open and doesn't show anything at all in the processes when trying to open it.

So i came to the forums to look for an answer and I seen something about the current patch/launcher issues that said to run the repair tool and then the game should run fine.

Problem is that even after running the repair tool the launcher still refuses to open or eve show anything in processes, am i the only one having this issue? Ugh

did the repair tool, did the update, restarted my computer, launcher crashes

I read you can do the repair tool and launch the game directly from exefile how do you launch directly from the exefile?

Can you send me the log files from your (eve path)\launcher\cache folder?

got the same problem with launcher.

Eve is running though, if I call E:\CCP\EVE\bin\ExeFile.exe directly after the E:\CCP\EVE\repair.exe

CCP Aporia, how can I send you my log?

  • Tried desktop icon. Quick load and nothing happens.
  • Tried repair tool. Seemingly no effect.
  • Tried launching the exe file. Started up the in-game login screen and closed immediately and started applying an update. Keeps applying the same update every time (as if it doesn't apply the update). There's no notification about the update finishing, and everything EVE related is absent in the process overview when it (seemingly) finishes.
  • Tried reinstalling EVE. Still can't log in or launch correctly.
  • Tried installing EVE through Steam. Same issue.
  • Tried the links for the new launcher in browser. Gray "PLAY" button.
  • Tried "run" the exe file directly again to bypass the launcher. Fails to connect in-game.
  • Tried downloading a .rar file with an update a CCP dev said might work. Seemingly had zero effect.

If anyone has a different solution, please enlighten me.
None of the suggested workarounds I've found on the forums are working for me.

I'm glad he tried it so I wouldn't have to. Though, I did try the repair tool, and the restarting, and some combo of that.

I mentioned this elsewhere; My launcher updated, and now the launcher will not launch.

Again, I double click the launcher icon, and the launcher will not open up. Ugh

This looks like an issue with the old launcher (version 1.32) not being able to update itself, its connection drops somewhere during the download.

Please try downloading and installing the launcher manually, the link to the latest version and some instructions can be found at http://wiki.eveonline.com/en/wiki/EVE_Launcher_Issues_and_Workarounds under the "Information" section. And please let me know if this fixes the problem. :-)

CCP Aporia the launcher manual update worked. It opened without an issue.

My only issue now is the play button is greyed out. I'm assuming it is because of this client validation thing.

I really hope this only happens after a launcher patch.

Its taking for god damned ever to validate.

Okay, I followed your instructions. here's the result; double click the "EVEOnlineLauncher_2_1_539169" file, and the nothing happens.

Nothing is appearing in my task manager either.

ok, that worked for me!! Thanks!

I had to be careful; First I deleted the launcher directory as mentioned in the post and since I have a second installation of Eve on my computer (for the test server) the launcher wanted to update the 'eve test' directory. after saying 'no' and changing the directory to the correct one the launcher got installed.
After running this verification steps I could log-in.
let me know if you could need any logs to help other ppl out.

The validation should only take a very long time the very first time the launcher starts, after that the validation results are cached.

That sounds odd, have you tried redownloading the file in case it was corrupted? Did you try running it with admin privileges?

I tried redownloading, and it's the same thing; no launcher start-up at all.

When you double click the .exe does anything happen? What operating system are you running?
