I run just one account really but have trained created and trained several characters on it, mostly for trading or production purposes. Because of that I switch between characters quite a bit and the new system doesn't really help with that as we lost the logout button in game.

NOW I have to quit the game and then start it again using the launcher but that requires the launcher to be open which may not sound like a big issue but it actually is. If you leave it open while running EVE and you alt-tab out to do something (EFT or the likes, browsing the web, watching youtubes) it sticks out like a sore thumb taking up task bar space and generally going "hi, I'm here... HELLOOOOO!!!!!!!" and being quite annoying about it, so realistically I don't want to have that launcher when running EVE; it's not needed, it's not helpful and all it does is take up space.

So we lost the easy to use option to switch characters and we gained an annoying window and lets not start talking about losing the awesome login music. Sorry for ranting and I know it has been stated a thousand times already but I feel CCP should realise that not everything they do sits well with their customers, this is a step back wards and I'm voicing my dislike.

Maybe they're introducing a "Log Off to Character Screen" option in Odyssey

I'm actually expecting this (at some point) considering the new launcher and log-in.

Yeah, that's probably what they'll do (hopefully)

Just create a shortcut from the ExeFile.exe in the bin folder from where you installed EvE, no launcher needed that way, and you get the logoff option in the client

And thank goodness it does too....

I haven't been playing EvE a whole lot lately, as it were, just sorta waiting to see the impact of the planned resource redistribution scheme arriving via Odyssey. Will I want to be an industrialist in the future? I've been logging in to queue up skills and to perform routine maintenence for a couple months now. Imagine my surprise when I encountered this beast today! Everything was gone. All settings, bookmarks, browser bookmarks, contacts - everything - nonexistant.

Then I found this topic (it's mentioned in several places) and created a shortcut to the icon in the bin folder. And like magic, no boogeymen, all settings restored, all bookmarks, contacts, - every bit of personalization back. No lag. Game looks great and is performing exactly as expected. How long will it be before this workaround is made impossible? It is way too simple and successful to not be messed with.

At least by doing it this way, I was able to take screenshots of my settings panels so hopefully I can duplicate these settings when that dark day finally arrives. And I also know that with 125+ pages of glorious feedback, stating the obvious won't help much, but in summation, its safe to say I'm not a fan of the new launcher.
