L4 ship alternatives

Greetings,

So I've done the L4 mission thing for a long time now and flown some of the kings of missions. Most of my mission running now takes place out in Amarr in a Nightmare. It wrecks and pulls in isk very nicely.

But on a whim a made a new character (this one in fact) to see how the new game experience has changed since I started playing 5ish years ago. Long story short, flying fast ships, tanking purely by speed and being up close and personal was insanely fun. It made the tutorial missions the most fun I've had (mission wise) in a long time.

So my question is, are there ships capable of replicating this experience, but in L4s?

I don't care if it isn't as profitable or is harder to clear a mission, I'm just looking for it to be more engaging. I'd prefer it to be a gunnery based ship, but have no other real requirements. Race, gun type, etc is a non issue.

I know a madman who runs around running missions in a MWD blaster fitted Hyperion. He claims it's lots of fun!

Slightly pimped Jag can run L4s. For even more excitement you can run the pirate epic arcs in Venal and Curse.

Proteus, Loki, HAM legion or tengu.

Sleipnir is another possibility.

Zealot and Legion(real amarr fit lasers anyway) are quite nice for this.

Even a Cyclone works, hell of a fun to speed/active tank a blood/sansha stage of a L4 worlds collide. Loki and Sleip to.

Well, MWD Mach can do 1.6-1.7 km/s (MWD works on all missions now), but it doesn't tank with speed.
Tengu does only 700 m/s on AB, but tanks with signature and speed. Although it doesn't need to orbit close...

Maybe something exept missions? Or missions, but not in hi-sec? Like doing angel L4's on vagabond in G-0.

Awesome suggestions so far. Really tempted on some of these (probably most intrigued by the Jag). The Sleipnir and Loki are high up there too.

At the time I posted the question I didn't really think of activities outside of high-sec missions. But it wouldn't be out of the question.

And I actually just bought a Mach to see if it would meet some/most of the reqs I have. That being said, I was planning it around an AB setup, not a MWD (easily tweaked however). I haven't gotten to take it out yet to see if it's what I'm looking for.

I dont think that T3 good at L4 missions but tengu. If fly mission in null-sec. t3 better

by the way . are your flying missions in G-0 ? there r lots of russian and fight

try in a 400 plate Daredevil, should be a blast, and yea all T3s are fun as hell haha

No I don't. Angels with their 1:2k LP:Isk exchange rate aren't very profitable. You may do 1:3k and sometimes even more in hi-sec. G-0 is a great PvP base, but I can't say the same regarding PvE.

Most profitable missions are L5's in low-sec afaik. Good thing is that it is possible to do them using singe stealth bomber.

PS Kozin Fel angel epic arc is a nice thing. If you don't mind visiting 0.0 Roll

I can fly T2tempest for M republic fleet~but i think its not a good ship for missions ,slowly ship

If he would tell you, it would be soon only 1:1k. But yeah, there are many such deals in high sec, just find them.

Loki, Sleipnir, Tengu are rather fast, speed tank well, and are not bad when it comes to completion time of most lvl4 missions.

It probably is. But I still find my Sleipnir fun from time to time when I want a smaller package.

just try doing angel ones in an armor cane or something...should provide a fun challenge =P You can use speed+sig to tank. Can probobly get 400 dps out of it too.

Its hard to fit a loki well, it has short hand( short optimal and falloff)
I think the king of t3 for missions only tengu~ ya~~

I am looking at the Deimos, purely for Serp Blockade 4 at the moment and what ever other missions I might find easy to do with it. As I am getting close to starting on an Ishtar, the Deimos is an easy cross train. Mainly I use a MWD mach and 800mm which flies like a cruiser, get in close and burn them, makes the mission actually enjoyable for Serp Blockcade. Deimos looks fun, it will be fast with the MWD to get in close, its got a decent native kin/therm tank, and hybrids are getting a buff. All in all, looks like it might be a fun ride for giggles. Deimos has a bad rep, but I managed to pull a level 4 Buzzkill in a cyclone 1 (which was close call, several times) and it gives me enough confidence for a Deimos I think I will call "Diehard" or something I can come up from those Bruce Willis movies Roll.

there is one level 5 mission that you can tank in a dramiel Big smile probably more than one but I havn't tried them all.

Can't remember the name of the mission think it was lights out but you just have to kill a station.
Umm....its does take a while

you won't be able to use a mwd or ab so you rely on base speed to tank although its not a problem as long as you kill the webbing frigs first. I first flew away from the station bringing them with me then picked them of 1 by 1, once the frigs are gone nothing else will even be able to hit you. Just orbit the station and start pounding lol

You'll need to grab ammo a few times but it is doable. Also kinda fun to see a dram tank a ton of bs and fighters, oh i think i had a snake set fitted too btw
