here is a link to the EVE Economy fanfest VID (or seach CCP on youtube)

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Ie9V2P5El0E&list=SPldrBIEnJ5hNf5bDBahRZic-k3Rh-Bs_n&index=15

go to time INDEX - 41.00 mins

you will see here that the slide shows that 50% of eve players play solo

i would like to say that this is not a bad thing

because:

the truth is no matter what you do in eve you are never playing alone at any moment any player can can find you and kill you (even if hi-sec carebear like i am)

solo players who mission run contribute to the market/economy in the same way the miners do and explorers and pvp'rs

so i am here to ask for some solo player LOVE

is there any reason that players couldnt create missions that were then sent to the DEVS for approval before being added to the agents

here is time line of how i imagine things going

1. CCP launch eve Program called PMC (player mission creator)

2. all eve players download this amazing new app

3. players then have a vast array of creation tools at their disposal

4. players can choose which agents offer the mission they create which factions are involved number of ships types of ships suprise triggers ECT ECT ECT

5. after they have created a mission players can test it out on the test server using the downloaded tool

6. players can then launch the MISSION for the public ONLY after they have tested it themselves on the test server (or on LIVE but without any rewards to stop exploits)

7. everyone with the downloaded PMC can then download these trial missions and test them

8. after players test each others mission they can rate them based on how much they liked it giving a top 100 top 1000

9. the DEVS can then look at this list lets say once per month (or more often:) and add new missions to the live server on a regular basis

10. this would make a massive difference to the number of missions available and would stop the repetitive nature of geting the same missions over and over again (imagine for one moment after this being out for 12 months and the devs have added 100 new missions per months due to how creative the community is thats 1200 new missions and all the devs had to do was double check other peoples content before adding it to the game).....(ps i would miss getting angel extra too)

11. PMC is so sucessful they launch PMC 2.0 this now allows players to create even more intricate missions the BIG feature is the addition of AGENT STORYLINES that are not just one off missions but each time you get to a storyline its a continuing story created by a player/approved by the devs....... imagine wanting to do 16 missions so you can get to the next part of the episodic content waiting for you in the next part of the story line ... these chains could be 10, 20 30 40 missions long making players wanna run more and more normal missions to see how the story develops

12. PCM 3.0 launched now you can create missions for all types of event s you are only limited to what you can submit for testing by your own imagination.... players create DEVS approve for continued quality control

13 PCM 4.0 becomes sentient and destroys all mankind OOOPS :D

well thanks for reading hopefully will get some positive feedback after all 50% of the user base soloing is half the user base

MAIN POINT people are always gonna solo given that 1 person (yourself) is the easiest number of people to organise to achieve your goal

so i really not looking for the OLD eve is an MMO i get that
but in an MMO i assume that in an you are allowed to solo (and 50% cant be wrong)
and the every single player(not bots) who interacts with a game world is an ASSET regardless of what they do in game

but the thing that excites me most about this idea is the TALENT OF CROWDS there will be some amazing stories/missions and experiences created just as there will be lots of rubbish but only the good stuff will be added to the game

Soloing is far higher than just 50%. Ppl who mostly solo but joins fleet once in a while are not counted. Even nullbears (rank and file, not officers) spend most of their playtime soloing. Full time fleeting is mostly in higher whs and incursions.

Player created missions were successful in many other games, but only because their rats are balanced.

Eve's rat balance is too badly neglected, with all balancing efforts going towards pvp. The popular player created missions will be these with only high bounty BSes waves after wave. Frigs and elite cruisers don't give enough bounty for the time it takes to kill them.

im not suggesting that player run mission should be more or less profitable than current missions

the reason i like the idea is that the number of missions will increase and will STOP the whole missions juggling that goes on i just like the idea of CCP doing something that would help change something that hasnt had any significant attention in the past 2 years or to put it another way more than 5 expansions

with regards rat balance this is something ccp could look at along with loot tables and bounties

players could et these but CCP could adjust them before putting a player mission on live

im not looking for MORE ISK per hour i dont even mind less isk per hour

i just like the idea of after X amount of months of player created mission .... i might get to the point where i can run mission for a full month solid and not see a single reapeted mission offered

thats the goal

balance, loot and bounties are always gonna be subjective to each player cause in eve 100 million is alot to someone with no time to grind at all where as 1 billion to another player may seem like nothing due to his earnings

so a good mix like it is at the moment is perfectly fine

Just LOTS LOTS more.... or maybe even something more inventive but would be nice if in the future missions were given some attention

i like them the way they are but i would like them even more if they were better/more varied/safer/more risky/more random and so on and so forth

EDITED for this .....

an example is recently they just made changes to exploration where they removed RATS in data and relic sites for the next expansion... this would have been awesome for soloists
#
BUT they then say in the same breath that they are changing it so that all LOOT spills out into space then disappears shortly after meaning its better if you go with 2 people
#
IMHO its like CCP want to discourage soloing

another example is that in one of the pre-fanfest vids on twitch tv one of the CCP guys said if people are just soloing lvl 4's all day then CCP are doing something wrong (cant be bothered going through all the vids but it is there)

i disagree i think that even though the soloist is treated like a 2nd class citizen ingame THE FACT that we are still playing means you must be doing something right .... but you could do it even better just acknowledge that we are there would be a start

I like this idea. There is nothing wrong with making pve (missions) less repetetive.
It would be interesting to see if isk/h actually went up despite the missions being less profitable simply because you would have to pay attention because you havent done that same mission a gazillion times before.

Having never run missions I still kind of like this idea. The main problem comes in matching risk/reward and making sure noone games it. If there is a GM or similar looking over them before they end in game then I could get behind it. Maybe have an editor like Garys MOD style of thing.

The best thing though to keep the game interesting is not to be in Hi-sec doing missions though. There is a whole world of a game out there that is all about competition and brushing up against rivals. It's like going to the seaside and bringing a paddling pool.

If you've never tried PvP in EvE it's quite possible you've missed out on one of the greatest rushes available in modern gaming.
