If CCP fired someone everytime a patch went sideways, pretty sure CCP wouldnt have any employees left.

Since the cessation of their usefulness is imminent, may I appropriate your belongings?

The day star, it burns us! (quite a nice day today, here in Glasgow).

So I went to the gym instead.

If a groundskeeper at some Futbol stadium in Europe made a mistake that destroyed the pitch and forced a match to be canceled, would he not be fired?

Why don't you tell us what would happen, you seem to have walmart worker experience.

This post was loving crafted by a member of the Official GoonWaffe recruitment team. Improve the forums, support this idea: https://forums.eveonline.com/default.aspx?g=posts&find=unread&t=345133

Would there be any left?

Do not assume anything above this line was typed by me. Nerf the Truth, it's inconvenient.

Employees are a valuable resource to a company. Only a adolescent who doesn't understand how much time and effort it takes to develop an employee would suggest firing someone for a simple mistake.

I demand that this results in heads on pikes outside CCP HQ as a warning to other devs! On a side note: It's difficult to light a torch holding this pitchfork...

Training replacements is a pain in the ass. And no matter how good a new hire is, it'll take them weeks to settle in properly.

It also /destroys/ company morale.

2 fallacies here.

The first one is to assume CCP is able to update the launcher without crashing it. If CCP knew how to code, we'd have noticed already.

The second is to assume that firing someone for ******* up is a rational and normal decision. It's not. It would result in a lot more costs through finding and training someone to replace whoever ****** up.

I realize some are annoyed after today's troubles but this isn't constructive.
