Justin is like 3 weeks in-game older than my toon and all of his posts are in the same condescending self indulging emo style like "I'm so cool 'cause I speak slowly about how lame you are 'cause you pvp and I think it is lame".

Awe. :( Does it bother you that I think I'm better than you?

Did I say pro Pvp ? No

Ah good. :) Right then, just to clear up:

-Tackling isn't "Pro-PvP"
-Can Flipping (LOL!) isn't "Pro-PvP"
-Ganking haulers isn't "Pro-PvP"
-Suicide ganking isn't "Pro-PvP"

So the only "pro-PvP" argument we have is that if you join RvB, they'll hold your hand through some kills. Right then. ;)

There is no "Pro-PVP" in EVE. There's just winning and losing. If bringing a 1 week newbie in a trash-fit frigate to an engagement means I win and you lose, how is something wrong with that? How does that diminish the newbie's accomplishment? Would I have won those engagements without a tackler? Probably not.

To say that a newbie can't face-melt with the big boys is so obvious as to not be worth mentioning. But to say a newbie can't meaningfully contribute is utterly false. The biggest barrier to this isn't a game mechanic. It's social. And RvB attempts to solve this problem by bringing people together to learn the ropes and meet people. I applaud their effort. Anything that helps new players get involved with the rest of the community is a huge positive for everyone in EVE.

I know sometimes it's difficult to realize just how much you spend on incidental things each month or year, but seriously, EVE is very cheap entertainment compared to most things... If you are a smoker, smoke one less pack a week and pay for EVE, with money left over to pick up a cheap bundle of flowers for the EVE widow upstairs.

Ahem.

Except we weren't talking about "newbies meaningfully contributing". We're talking about the OP's claim that "Newbies can PvP like pros despite SP and age."

Null-Sec needs to HTFU and stop crying to CCP. If null-sec wants PvP, they need to stop being carebears and start fighting eachother - after years of bot-mining, they have the ships!

What definition of "pro" will we be using though ? What defines pvping like a pro, what criteria.

killing PVP fit ships solo / outnumbered .

SP and experiance go hand in hand usually , you can join in with 0.5mil sp but u will win **** all of notice on your own . (no harm in trying tough thats were you get the experiance.)

I am so sick of hearing from people that you cannot get far in this game becaues it is too late to start, to prove this wrong I created a new char and throw myself at a hardcore pvp corp, in 2 days, I had 48 kills 15 losses, Total Isk Damage done: 0.85 Billion, Total Isk Lost: 0.01 Billion, Pilot efficiency of over 98.51%. Granted I was never the top damage dealer in those battles, but I did make big difference by contributing by tackling the enemy, baiting, meat sheild etc... In the end I had fun.

This just proves even a 3 day noob with less than 150k skillpoint can do this much damage and so can you. If you are worry about the isk, just want to let you know, the rifter I am flying fully fitted with Platium insurance will come down to less than 350k loss for each ship (jita price).

Gratz you got carried by other players to get a nice kill/losses ratio on your killboard.

More skillpoints :

Better ships
Better economy to support more expensive pvp
Better fittings
Better performance on your already better ships.
Can also choose a wider variety of ships.

Sure you dont need high sp to start pvping if you count being carried by a larger number of players to kill others who were probably outnumbered.

Getting points on an enemy's warp, or srambling them is small beans compared to 800 DPS ships going at it, and the newbie sure as hell isn't doing much, given their loathesome weapon skills & tanking skills.

Ya know, I was going to tell a story about a young newb in a Rifter getting a point on a WT Dramiel that a fleet hadn't been able to catch for hours, and how their sacrifice allowed the fleet to pop the guy, but I figure it's just gonna get put down, so what's the point?

It's not like the guy contributed anything meaningful, right? Roll

You all want to talk about how the only meaningful pvp is with T2 ships and modules, and how something doesn't count unless it meets your definition of pvp... Blah, blah, blah...

The point is, a newb can get into FiS PVP with under a day's training. Even if they only get to point a target, if that point stops the target from getting away, then it's just as important as the DPS that popped the target. In the end, all that matters is that the target got popped.

*shrug*

(And, yes, I'll be one of the first to admit that PVP alliances such as RVB are "killmail factories", but then, how does that differ from null sec alliances who refuse to engage any target on anything close to equal terms, or who hotdrop 50 super carriers on a lone BC?)
