Launching an broken product that disrupts their clients usage of a product they pay for, seems like grounds for someone to be fired.

so who is getting fired?

Hardly seems like grounds to firing someone unless it was done intentionally. More likely to end with a slap on the wrists.

Mistakes happen, even in business.

Grow the **** up, OP.

Or turn off your computer and try going outside for a while.

Can we get this thread locked? CCP is the greatest thing since sliced bread and any comments to the contrary are blasphemous

That's a rather brash way of replying don't you think?

The answer to every question these days seems to be "go outside"... I mean, who want's to go outside? There's bugs and stuff.

OP, we know you're taking your recent forced-unemployment hard, but that's no reason to wish it on other people.

Grow the hell up, or GTFO.

Lucky i have remote snapshots of my machine and could fix that easily =)

I am good with a 12 hour fix cycle but telling me to patch and repair over and over again is not a soultion to this problem i have tired it 20 times

love this screen, admit your mistake ccp fix it and stop trying to pass the buck. if you cant figure it out GO back to the old launcher.

if an employee at "walmart" made a mistake that shut down the store for a day wouldnt he be fired?

If a groundskeeper at some Futbol stadium in Europe made a mistake that destroyed the pitch and forced a match to be canceled, would he not be fired?

Yeah come on guys, CCP go to a lot of thankless effort to produce this free game for us to enjoy.

Wait no, we pay for the damn thing. And despite half the damn customer base having the *same* issues for hours and hours since the roll out, I log in just now and the launcher quietly screws up my game. Why on earth wouldn't they even have the common sense to pull the damn update from happening? No mail to warn people. No status updates. No ETA on them doing any more than sitting on their ass.

Give me a break.

According to CCP, this isn't a code issue, but a load issue on the servers that run the launcher. Kinda corpspeek for possibile DDOS.

Keep that in mind when you're advocating people losing their job, OP.

As for your Wal-Mart quote...amusingly enough, I did just that. Worked for the Big W after I left the service, managed to blow a main breaker box plugging in a floor buffing machine. Store closed for 27 hours before they got it all fixed.

No, I didn't get fired. Accidents happen.

If they fired someone over this I'd be embarrassed to be associated with such a callous, kneejerking company.

Of course they won't, because they're adults.
