Greetings new capsuleers!

I am helping the new citizens of New Eden by giving away 10 million ISK to each new player.

All you have to do is mail me a link to a screenshot of your character screen showing that there is in fact and only 1 character, and the character shown must be the same as the character you mail me from. When I verify that the screenshot is real, I will send you 10 million ISK.

Please note: Those who have participated in the Buddy Invite thread are not eligible for this offer.

Players older than 1 month are not eligible for this offer.

Is this illegal? Can this be used to hack me?

No and no. I am not asking for your login details, just an image of your character screen to verify new account status.

Won't people scam you?

I'm sure they will, but it's no big deal. If someone is going to scam me for 10 million ISK, then they must need it a lot more than I do.

How much ISK do you have to give away?

Let's just say I'll be doing this for a while.

Too good to be true = scam

At least the newbs who look here can see one that looks like you can get 10mil for nothing. If he wanted to just give away cash he could watch threads for true noobs and just send the money.

My favorite part of your post was all the proof you had that I'm scamming people by giving them 10 million ISK.

A few points.

  1. Not every newbie who reads the forums posts on the forums.
  2. How do you know whether or not I'm watching threads for true noobs and sending them money?
  3. Next time I log into the client, I am also going to be giving away ISK in starter systems to newbies.
  4. This thread is not going to be the only avenue I use to give away ISK to newbies, as it will prove inadequate to the task, but at least raises awareness that newbies should be approaching me to get some free ISK.
  5. I really want to get rid of this ISK by giving it to newbies.
  6. You are actually hurting newbies by trying to scare them away by calling this a scam.
  7. You have yet to point out what I'm gaining from this scam, and what the newbies are losing.

Have all the newbies in Rookie ships gather in Curse at a safespot.

Let's see:
You want screen shots...hmmm that looks like an alt account blah blah Nigerian bull to get account details
You're recruiting for a tax monkey corp by masking it as an isk giveaway
You're using a character you were trying to sell...which also got locked and looks like you were trying to scam.

Seems like I just missed your kind offer as I started my trial on 17/04. I have had helps from various people. They offered me very good advice via chat, free looting of their L4S wrecks or even free items via contracts. I'd rather believe you are genuinely helping newbies like me rather than scamming.

Keep on the good work! Wish all newbies a smooth start!

I'm not asking for any "account details". The information I am requesting is nothing that wouldn't show up on an API key check.

But it's probably less complicated for a newbro to take a screenshot than to do an API.

And it certainly is easier for me.

How do you figure? I haven't mentioned any sort of recruitment, nor am I a recruiter for my corporation.

So? The thread got locked because I decided not to sell.

Your arguments are very weak and when I am done giving ISK away, I am going to post my API key to you and watch you eat your words one letter at a time. Cool

Newbie's are the life blood of EVE Online.

More newbies doing industry = more supply.

More newbies blowing up and doing FW = more demand.

More supply and more demand stimulates the economy, creates economies, niches, and overall increases the player base and opportunities for emergent gameplay.

The number one reason for quitting EVE is feeling lost/bored and not having any ISK. I can at least help one of those.

Hmm my usual thoughts are if an offer looks too good and I can't see the trick I'm not looking hard enough. I may do this just to see how I am scammed.

Yeah...something for nothing...too good to be true...
There's the proof, OP...

edit: OP, it's not cool to prey on new players. However, what you are doing is providing a good lesson in the kind of thing players see a lot of in eve and what to avoid. Scams use our greed against us. If it's too good to be true it usually is. There are some really clever people playing this game and the scams get better and more complex all the time. If you fall for a scam then usually it was ultimately because you were being greedy. Every good scammer tries to look as legit as possible. C'mon m8...

On a related note, you can't see usernames or emails from the character selection screen.

I'm definitely not sending anyone any ISK.
