We'd really like to see a log for those scenarios as we cannot reproduce this in-house at the moment. Maybe it's only an issue if it's not installed on the C:\ drive, which I will test right away now.

My path was : C:\\Program Files (x86)\\CCP\\EVE - Sissi\ so white space too and launcher's patch didn't run by itself when it was self downloaded.

The log you posted refers to the current version of the EVE Launcher, v.1.32. It might be that it's failing to self update when the path has spaces in it, or that the updater.exe fails to run when the path has spaces in it.

So while CCP is fixing launcher bugs.

How about deleting .patch files after they aren't needed. I don't need 2 gigs of patch files from an entire year just sitting in the EVE folder.

Actually we flipped the default for that setting, so by default the .patch files should get deleted with the new launcher.

Will this also delete old .patch files or only new ones?

It should. However, that only gets invoked after the next time the launcher install an EVE update.

I seem to be having a issue with the launcher post today's (2013/05/21) patch:1.2.4.
I normally boot my client using the exe directly to the game than the launcher, because my university proxy gives me issues with it. I downloaded today's update, but I am still getting the (incompatible protocol) error, and if i try and run the launcher (I am at home now so this is possible) the launcher either tries to redownload the same patch over again and then opens the launcher which says it's in offline mode. clearly I am not offline. now if I open the straight exe I get this message "Ready to Update! the update has been successfully updated, the client will close and the update process will begin." if I click ok the same thing happens, I feel a little like Sisyphus.

I keep getting the offline mode warning as well today. Sisi worked perfect last night USTZ. And i tried to manually run the launcher update as discussed earlier in the thread. Also I don't know if it was the new update or the attepmted manual launch but another eve folder was created in my CCP folder. So i have a TQ folder, Sisi folder and now some third folder that is obviously supposed to be a test folder but only has like 4 files in it.

This is due to issues with our webservers which are being looked into.
