I prefer Buddha.

The fool thinks he has won a battle when he bullies with harsh speech,
But knowing how to be forbearing- that makes one victorious.
The worse of the two is he who, when abused, retaliates.
One who does not retaliate wins a battle hard to win.

Knowing that the other person is angry, one who remains mindful and calm
Acts for his own best interest and for the other's interest, too.
He is a healer of both himself and the other person also.
He is thought a fool only by those who do not understand the Dhamma.

Maturity, one discovers, has everything to do with the acceptance of not knowing. http://www.di.fm/spacemusic

Sun Tzu was a required text in a management course that I took. It seemed very strange to me at the time, but over time I began to see the true value of it - and it was quite valuable indeed.

Works pretty well for me in RTS games. However in Eve I'd be better served by a treatise in guerilla warfare.

Yeah, try Major Hans von Dach "Der totale Widerstand" it might be available in english.

His book is about creating a resistance (or total resistance as he calls it) in case some smaller country (like Austria or Switzerland) is occupied by an overwhelming force (like the Sowjet Union during the cold war).

Though much has changed since the invention of cell phones and his guide would have to be adapted to that since he wrote it in the late 1950'.

EDIT: Oh, there I found the title of the english publishing from 1965: "Swiss Army Guide to Guerrilla Warfare and Underground Operations" a little misleading but who cares.

Stupidity should be a bannable offense.

Fighting back is more fun than not.

Somewhat Ironically, on the Chinese server they're debating applying the wisdom of ancient Viking military philosopher Thorval Ravenhand to EVE. Pearls such as:

"When your enemy thinks you are far, emit a blood-curdling battlescream and attack."

"When outnumbered by your enemy, emit a blood-curdling battlescream and attack."

"He who prepares carefully will be made ravenfood by him who screams and attacks"

By all accounts it's quite a spirited - yet highly honorable, mind you - debate.

I visited iceland once, and there were some fun to read "all about vikings" or "Fun facts about Vikings" books etc. can't remeber the exact title but one sentence from that book remained in my memory and try as I might, I couldn't forget it.

Viking explorer rule #1: If he doesn't belong to us, kill him.

Made me chuckle a little. :)

Ive read *where is waldo* once.

Ive been aplying that knowledge to my PVP ever since.

BoBwins Law: As a discussion/war between two large nullsec entities grows longer, the probability of one comparing the other to BoB aproaches near certainty.

Actually. The Icelandic sagas might have something going for them.

"And if a man of any other family offends you, you must kill him. You must slaughter his wife and you must enslave his children. This is a great offense, so to live past this, you must then slaughter what is left of his kin"

Rough translation from "The cold virgin".

Having read many comments on warfare on the forums made me realy wonder: "how many of the pilots did actually REALY take an effort to study the both tactical and strategical riches offered by the writings of Sun Tzu", since real knowledge of the Arts of War would of course for most represent an enormous benefit during their strivings to get to be succesful to some extend in space warfare (high/low/nul sec)

So, I am curious to learn if there are any other pilots that possess a real understanding and knowledge of the Sun Tzu!??

Sun Tzu says : "In difficult ground, press on; On hemmed-in ground, use subterfuge; In death ground, fight." ALL of EVE is Death Ground btw.
